Since you need raid gear to get to level 30, everybody at end game of the same class is going to look the same, aside from class items and shaders.
This severely discourages customization and uniqueness among the playerbase.
What if I really like the look of my Queen's Wrath chest that I worked really hard to get and not get one-shotted when i was level 22, only having to throw it away for the raid chest for better stats and level?
Or if the Crucible pants I grinded hours of rep and marks for looks awesome with the camoflage pattern, but now they have to be ditched for the meh-looking raid pants just for the stats?

I put 'don't care' because if Bungie cared they would have given you that ability in the first place.

There should be a system where if you're a certain level, you can go to te speaker or someone else to pay like 1k of glimmer or a couple motes to upgrade a piece of armor to have the same stats as the one you're wearing. But when dismantled, it didn't give materials equivalent to its level. Can't be done if wearing an exotic.

I don't know how many people need to make forum post about this very topic before they listen and implement. HELL, I'd pay twenty dollars just to change my freakin color scheme to what I WANT !

I completely agree that vanity slots are needed. A lot of people I have talked to think the same.

I'm going to go ahead and bump this.

I have detailed my thoughts regarding gear customization in another post here as well. I spent a fair amount of time detailing my thoughts of how gear/weapon customization/personalization could possibly work, so I'd rather not post those ideas all here again. If you wouldn't mind reviewing my ideas and commenting on the thread with your own ideas, I'd sure appreciate it. I added a call-back to your post as well. Absolutely agree, I was sporting a pretty Rockin' set of Armour for my Titan (all in Black) and then ended getting a new helmet which was all red and it just didn't look right! I believe DC Universe cracked a pretty good system, in which you could take the Stats from the new gear that you acquired and add it to existing gear so that you could keep the pieces that you like from an aesthetics point of view and create a totally unique look for your character. Also on a somewhat related side note, weapons customisation like the person below mentions, maybe something like the EA Battlefield system in which you can attaché not only colours, tags ect but mod the weapon with silencers, different sights etc? just my thoughts

100% want the ability to look like I'm wearing all exotics even if I don't get the stat boosts.

Lol hashtag fashion... sad. I hope this is a girls original post. But I do agree we do need individual "style"

I'm so sorry but this video sums up everything about you're vanity idea...and awokens

They said they were working on that actually

Agreed! You've got my vote. C1earing

Agree, you should be able to take the light from raid gear that has been upgraded and infuse it into your favorite gear.

Yeah, I dig this idea. It's like that live action trailer they did, all that personalization, and you can't do none of it. I totally want to be able to customize my warlock with some random dogtags, maybe some etching here and there, and maybe a stuffed animal.
