So I've seen some people on here suggest some kind of Transmog system to change the look of gear... Let's take that a step further - and to be honest this may have been mentioned but I haven't taken the time to go through most similar suggestion posts yet:
Complete Customization / Reforge of Gear
Aesthetics:
How this would work is you find a piece you like and dismantle it, you then gain its skin pieces (such as pauldrons for shoulders, stuff like that) to apply to any armor pieces in its category. The options would be available in the upgrades menu of the gear piece.
Price: Glimmer, Armor Materials / Weapon Parts.
Stats:
This is where we tread the line and I'm sure there are some who wouldn't want to see this happen for whatever reasons, but with no economy why would this matter? I'm also sure there are plenty of people here who have come across an upgrade that didn't suit their play style - you get a piece with intelligence and strength when you wanted discipline and strength, etc. Well, perhaps the option to swap the stats out should be in order.
Price: Glimmer, MoL, SC, AE/AS, *Xur sold items.
Upgrades:
Upgrades could also be swapped for something more in favor of how you play - but only within the same category of upgrade (any additional ammo can only replace any additional ammo, sights for different sights, etc.). Damage upgrades could be replaced but lost, defense upgrades would not be altered as they tie to Light necessary for level advancement beyond level 20. A reset/default upgrades could be applied in the event that is desired - this would have a cost.
Price: Glimmer, MoL, SC, AE/AS, consumables, *Xur sold items.
* Could be new consumables or materials strictly for use in this process.
Please feel free to voice opinions and/or your own suggestions - I will add to or change my suggestions based on the feedback!

Bump - amazing how fast things get burried in a short amount of time.
