I would like to see a new item drop from the weekly loot lottery - I mean Raid - and I think there may be a few others that might agree with the idea. Here is why, three raids and in each raid I got the same friggin shader,. So I am forced to continue to enter into the Raid Lottery once each week for as many times as it take to get the couple of pieces of gear to hit level 30 and with my luck (14 straight hours of play this weekend and saw 1 legendary drop - an item for another class - while the two mates that joined me for the last 2 hours got 3 legendary engrams drop between the two of them, as well as another 3 pieces of legendary gear from the time restricted events we ran - sigh).
Here is what I am asking for them to add. A raid replay token. If you get one during a raid you can use it to reset the raid and run it a second time that week. The drop rate on this would be the same as the one for ascendent materials, shaders and such, but would not drop if you were awarded a piece of raid gear.
Since the game has but one raid, as it is we get one chance per week at the lottery. Yes I know some people are creating multiple clones of their guardian and swapping gear over to run it up to three times, but I and others do not have the time to do that, and honestly I think Bungie will end up flagging gear - the same flag they use on your guardian - to stop them from the gear swaps and going back in. If the game had 5 raids it would be a different story, since you could try another raid if the first one was not lucky for you, but with just this one chance at the lottery per week, it makes me want to stop and go do something that actually awards me for my time and effort.
This is not a freebie for gear, you still have to run the raid, you still have to win the raid lottery, the new drop just gives you another chance at it, a token of your accomplishment that was not rewarded in that particular run. Of course I'd hope that they make it so that you cannot get both a piece of Raid gear AND the replay token, but even if you did I do not see that unbalancing anything.
This drop would be included in the list of lower tier awards, so once the process has decided that you are not getting an upper tier reward and goes to select one of the lesser ones (ascendent materials, shader, ship, etc) this would be added to that list of possible drops. This would not decrease the chance of getting an upper tier piece, and would increase the variety of the lower tier awards so there might be less repeating. The replay would be awarded just like an Exotic Bounty (taking up one of those slots until used) and would clear the Raid Played flag on your guardian allowing you to run the event again. There could even be a limit of how many times in a week you could use one. They would not crossover onto other Guardians on the account, and destroying them should provide one of the Ascendant Materials.
The other thing that this would accomplish is provide an incentive to those that have done it once, to go back in and run it with those that have not - and still have a chance at getting something out of it.
Thanks for thinking about this and I hope I am not alone in either my anquish at the loot lottery system. Good Hunting mates and I will see you in the tower.

I think it would be a good idea to get something along the lines of the (i forget what they are called) but they are coins in WOW that allow you to get an extra roll on loot from the raid bosses. It would be nice to see one or two of those drop in a Nightfall. With the horrible RNG though it would suck to use the coin and get the same roll.

Just name it "lootery" ... ;-)

Ew, go back to DCUO

Nah what we really need is more raid content one raid clearly isn't enough
-
I'm gonna say I hope this doesn't happen. I seen what replay badges done to dcuo. While it was nice to re-run content, people got geared up so fast that they had nothing left to do. So they stopped playing. In my opinion, it really hurt the population of that game in the long run.
-
I totally agree with this suggestion. For three weeks straight, I have done the raid with two different characters and received nothing but ascendant energies and a few shards
-
No. Raids must keep the way they are. If you allow multiple play throughs, people get their stuff even faster as they do now and cry even earlier for new content because they hardcore grinded the shit out of this game and finished everything in one week.

I think I like it. gold star! my biggest worry is that with the next raid in december the level cap is rumored to go up so what make me want to keep raiding the vault? cause I want to but not for lvl 30 if cap is 32

Better yet have a raid vendor in the tower who only sells gear. You get a certain number of tokens for each checkpoint you pass. Then we can save up to buy the gear from our crappy luck. This system is already in place with xur and vanguard/crucible marks, why not the raid? #feedback

Sounds like a good idea! Having been one of the lucky friends stated Im still awaiting the final gun drops from the raid and witnessing other players getting awful drops (e.g shaders or even a ship) I feel quite bad that im getting what I want, and having to wait a week is frustrating especially if we completed it the day on or after the reset. Having more than 6 people in my clan im having to run multiple raids for all members to get a chance of playing and I get nothing in return apart from thanks and praise from clan members.
