Pocket infinity - diminishing returns

I noticed today at sepiks prime that pocket infinty's damage diminishes as more shots are continually fired. The first hit started at ~220 damage, with the last at ~130 damage. I only managed to get the perk "pocket infinty" over the weekend, then shelved it to work on getting ammo regen for invective so I didnt use it much pre-patch. So can anyone tell me if it used to have diminishing returns before the nerf, or was this added as well?

  • It did this pre-nerf as well, though I think the taper off was slightly less severe because it had more shots. In either case having 8 shots was better because of the fact that the charge up time is so long on this gun. Parsed out over an extended time only getting 3 shots off and reloading/re-charging is far less effective than doing the same thing with 8 shots, even with diminishing returns. More shots down range = more damage. I personally always saved Pocket Infinity for large bosses that are easy to hit (Devil Walkers, Pholgoth, etc.) or when I know enemies will line up for me in a neat row to mow down. But now that it has a piddling 3 shot magazine I just use Plan C or a shotgun.
