I usually don't speak out with these kinds of things and I'm sure I'm going to get flamed the shit out of for this one.
Unpopular opinion (?):
I believe that Exotic Weaponry/Armory shouldn't be omnipotent, carry all, kill all type of items. In any major MMO, most items like this, are extremely difficult to obtain, (NOT A RNG HARDMODE RAID), or don't exist, and if they do, don't exist for long. This post is a response to the lighting up of the forums over the much disputed "Vex Mythocast." The mindset on this gun are very opinionated and ALWAYS lean hard left or right. I do believe that if you have the skill and patience to beat out Atheon, you deserve a reward, not an overpowered, nearly game-breaking, RNG-based drop chance, weapon.
Objectively:
A gun that, used correctly, mind that this is extremely important: used correctly, can carry a team to victory, and score 7000-10000+ points per Crucible match, is still overpowered, despite the fact that this person has excelled at PvE for completing a raid. So:
Nerf's like this:
Base Damage decreased by 34%
Increased Precision Damage multiplier from 1.25 -> 1.50 (headshot bonus)
Are inevitable, no matter how much you want to argue your point. Look at these numbers, as a person who knew how to counter or atleast, stall Vex Mythocast, 34% seems a bit too much as a RNG for people who have received the gun (not earned).
Other:
Regarding the limitations on VoG's "buff?"
Any gaming company's worst mistake in my opinion is ruining player ingenuity,
Kill volume added to sniper platforms to prevent players from sitting on top of them
this game was advertised as free world, inventive, and open. Pulling stunts like this, pull down your game and your reputation, why ruin a perfectly fine strategy? If the hot-fix did something like:
Increased difficulty of using platforms in the Vault of Glass.
Then you'd be sticking to your word, and generally, improve the experience of "next-level" to general PvE.
General Disregard of the concept "Open World" and "PvE"
I feel like this game... Kind of ripped everyone that bought it off. You advertise the world as something brilliant, amazing, something that we as gamers can open a map or story mission, and honestly enjoy it over and over. No. No. No. and... No.
You failed those promises I'm afraid, with 5 different Crucible gamemodes that don't deliver with their matchmaking system, no choice whether to pick a connection or combat rating based mode of matching, a story that is half-assed (not that this ticks me off that much, but the fact that it had SO MUCH POTENTIAL), and missions that are repetitive and offer no new experience.
But despite all this...
I love this game. One of my favorite games for sure, simply because of the MMO style and general layout of the game. I won't touch on other sensitive topics like Crucible Classes (which all have their own checks and counters), DLC (I think how they're doing them is fine), Xur (because most players only average 2 hours a day and I feel earning through strange coins deserves a little more merit than RNG), or other Exotic Classed Items, many of my pseudo-rant ancestors have touched these topics in a lovely manner.
P.S. Sorry for the rant. Preparing for the incoming shitstorm. Have a nice day, and keep in mind that these are my own opinions, not yours, and you are entitled to whatever you want to believe.
