Arc Blade is so underpowered in PvE. It has limited usage from a utility standpoint, such that you can use it for quick revives and beating the VoG platform puzzle in style... but its damage output is severely curtailed by the fact that getting close enough to actually hit mobs at the Raid/Nightfall level will almost certainly end poorly for you.
This problem could be solved simply by drastically increasing the amount of Damage Reduction Arc Blade grants. That way you can still soak up the hits you'll inevitably take while in melee range.
Make sure you apply this change both in PvE where it actually is needed, and in PvP where it most certainly is not.
Because that is your modus operandi, and it's clearly being received very well.

Yes, as a bladedancer I agree. Nerf the heck out of our SUPER so it is even more useless. Already it is pointless against everything but low level mobs and noobs that bunch up and don't work together. While you are at it, our armor is too strong. People can't kill us for some reason when we are moving really fast. Last, my two or three hit melee is way OP. Maybe make it so I can only get two kills max and then everyone will be happy.

How in the hell are people missing the tags on this T_T
-
Yeah it's pretty bad in pve.
-
Did anyone else actually read to the end? Don't feed the trolls, people

I think blade dancer just needs a "speed" upgrade to where you become light itself and can't be hit for the duration. Problem solved

Edited by DannyPG: 10/16/2014 6:50:53 AMHungering blade. Problem solved. I'm a hunter my self and when ever I use my bladedancer, all I need is one arc blade kill and my health is practically full again. I prefer gunslinger anyway, but trust me, Bungie does not need to buff this class. If you're having trouble, I'd reccomend backing away from your enemies while low on health and sending a few razor's edge waves to finish them off, then if you have hungering blade selected, you'll instantly get your health back if you kill any of your enemies.
-
The whole point of the hunter class is to be a superstar in PvP, not PvE, if you play a hunter you should anticipate being worthless at PvE, join the warlock master race if you want to be great at PvE
-
OMG seriously lmfao
-
No the arc blade is over powered in pvp already you can get 3-5 kills be for its done....
-
He's saying the damage needs a boost for pve. It's already a one shot in PVP, so upping the damage wouldn't change much.
-
They're op as shit
-
Agreed it should give you blue armor while you're blade dancing at the very least. Why should a super be good in the after thought mini gam e crucible (which I don't play anymore unless i'm bored) but useless in the REAL GAME that people actually play... Raid, Story, Strikes.

Edited by Jaikingston: 10/16/2014 12:52:41 AMThey're nerfing blade dancer, lmao. It's the most OP pvp super by far
-
gunslinger is pve ,arcblade pvp
-
Bruh just use gunslinger it's much better for pve but pvp hands down bladedancer
-
Don't want to "rain on your parade" but this post is very ridiculous. I'm a level 30 Hunter with over 120 hours on just my Hunter and I can surely tell you that you very much do not understand the purpose of Bladedancer in PvE. They are a supporting class in PvE, the special is more mob clearing and orb dropping. The camo is for picking up team mates in the middle of a firefight. Etc.. Etc.. Etc. If you're doing the raid, or fighting any boss, you should be a Gunslinger. You will be much more of a help (99%) of the time. To be honest I only use my Bladedancer when doing the nightfall (camo to revive) or when farming perks because of the fleet footed perk. Bladedancer can be very effective in PvP, and that's it's strong side. You need to play both roles efficiently and understand what you're supposed to do as a hunter. Max them both out and use them both how you should be. There is no buffs or nerfs needed. It's simple, don't run up to a boss that requires 3/6 guardians to kill and expect to stab him without being crushed. Do you see Striker Titans striking a raid boss? FYI, gunslinger with the helmet I have (extra goldengun shot) and the right perks will outplay bladedancer anyday, and this is coming from an experienced Hunter.

No buff needed
-
Arc blade in pve is crowd control, no buff needed.
-
literally 100% agree. blade dancer is OP in crucible and should be NERFed in that game type. you can't kill a whole team spread out with a warlock or Titan, so why should a hunter get excused? plus their health is more? not sure on this but I have had plenty of times where I melee'd and dodged a blade dancer 3+ times and they still kill me....
-
IMO arc blade needs a slight reduction in gun damage blocked, and a 95-99% reduction in melee damage taken (that includes all boss insta-kill nova type moves).
-
Edited by Deadfox-4: 10/15/2014 5:53:23 PMYea blade dancer is completely useless against bosses unless you're planning a carefully timed suicide run. And also useless when lightswitch is on. It is great for revives, but in the Raid on hard, there are no revives, so whats the point? Its really awesome, and I would love to use it all the time, but on the higher difficulties gunslinger is just so much better.
-
I agree buff for pve

Edited by Senj (Prismatic): 10/15/2014 4:34:07 PMIm bladedancer all the time and im sick of not being able to generate orbs for the team. Kill the team generate 2 TWO orbs of light. C'mon man really?. ANOTHER THING MAN fix our damage reduction boost in pvp cause when titans and warlocks activate there supers they take almost less then half the damage PLUS WARLOCKS AND TITANS GET -blam!-ING OVER SHIELDS WHILE IN A SUPER BUT AN ARC BLADE CAN GET SHOT UP CLOSE BY A SHOT GUN or nova bombed upon our activation. People get mad cause when we hit them its when they're backs are turned or caught of gaurd but i cant tell you how many times ive gotten killed up close because of a shot gun with range a nova bomb or fist of havoc or a stupid titan bubble and i have hungering blade to regen health with every kill but it does not make a difference.

My single biggest complaint about Bladedancer is the lack of useful light generation. The face that bladedancer generates 1 orb of light when almost any other super can generate 2-3 is ridiculous. I practically would despise having a bladedancer on my raid team if it wasn't for the stealth.
-
I never use arc blade in PvE except to stealth and revive folks. It is 100% totally useless in Vault hard mode.
