On October 14th the Borderlands Pre-Sequel is your TRUE Destiny
Discuss how this is accurate and how BLPS will remind people of how a game is meant to actually have story and content.

Still better than destiny

Edited by Alpha Luna: 10/15/2014 1:20:30 AMSorry but gearbox will never get another cent from me. Good or not they extorted, lied, not only to fans but the publisher they were working for Sega aswell as 3Drealms. They never once fixed that horrible excuse for software instead they simply said "Here's free borderlands loot keys, oh and buy our DLC! Oh wait season pass doesn't mean you get it all here is 10 more dlc you have to spend 100 $ total to get." Gearbox is a joke, the company is crap and their games are garbage. Even as disappointing as this game was on a story level the company [Bungie] and teamwork required for the majority of content far surpass BL. That is a fact.

I've been a big fan of the Borderlands games, and I picked this up this morning. It really is more of the same, with a few new elements like zero gravity tossed in. The game is funny and entertaining, if you like their style. But the franchise is starting to wear thin, no doubt about it. After Destiny's near pitch-perfect gameplay, it's a bit tough to go back to the clunky shooting. Honestly, fans of the series should enjoy it, but there's no doubt that Destiny is going forward and Borderlands is kind of bogged down in the past. I'll pick away at it for a bit, and if it doesn't grab me, I'll sell it on eBay early.

Borderlands went downhill in the last installment. I don't know how pre-sequel will be but I am not wasting money on it
-
Played both but couldn't get a quarter of the way into the beginning of either...to many guns

Funny that people keep bringing BL up when talking about Destiny. You guys bitch and moan about portions of the game being in DLC but gearbox -blam!-in' put out like 20 DLC and 16 of them weren't included in the season pass. Another 6 weren't included in the GOTY edition. I love BL for its gameplay and humor, but I will not being buying another BL until they get their DLCs under control and I don't have to spend another $100 AFTER I've bought the season pass just to have it all.

Also, the ending of Borderlands Pre-Sequel is that Lilith teleports in and punches Jack in the face as he's looking at the weird Vault Symbol relic, causing his face to get burnt. Lilith tries to have Athena killed but the big red alien stops the bullets mid-air and says something about war coming. Enjoy your game. Buh-bye.

To me the pre sequel is just dlc for BL2 but you can't play any of your characters. They didn't even change the HUD or anything. But that's just my opinion.

Edited by Furious Demise: 10/14/2014 11:42:18 PM
Repetition and a lackluster story are its biggest shortcomings, but Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel is different enough to separate itself from the shadows of its older siblings.
So much for your story.

Making a game for last gen only ? It's been like 8 years FFS move on....also , quit down scaling games for last gen LET GO.
-
You mean DLC the game
-
Played the first Borderlands and, despite it being kind of fun, the wonky mechanics and terrible art direction (IMO) means I never bothered with the sequel.
-
I liked both borderlands a lot but the pre sequel is a money grab.
-
borderlands sucks
-
But the Borderlands games suck...
-
They make reference like this all the time. Also, based off reviews, this game is good for the story, the action skills, and little else. Which is disappointing, because I'm a huge Borderlands fan, but relieving, because I was going to skip this game until it was cheap anyway.
-
If they don't have the balls to come to next gen leave em in the past
-
mockery is the highest form of flattery
-
Is it coming to PS4?
-
They're not even working on an actual sequel, -blam!-ing us next geners in the ass. Sad cuz I love bl games but I'm not rebuying a 360 just for that no matter how tempting it is
-
It's not a bag or a diss as so many keep saying. I don't understand why the hate or why we can't love both games. Just going to copy my response from other thread that was basically same concept... If you ever played Borderlands 1 or 2 you would know the easter egg gaming and pop culture references are gems. The Tiny Tina DLC in BL2 was so full of them that it was hilarious. I never laughed so much while gaming. You even had missions to teabag fake pvp players in game after taking them out. It made references from everything from Dungeons in Dragons to Dark Souls etc I'm just sad they didn't go next gen. I'm spoiled on my Xbox One system and can't be motivated to go back to my extremely slow 360 now. lol

That game looks like trash and cartoonish.
-
Please look up the Game Informer when BL was announced and you tell me if that's the game they promised players when it shipped. FAR FAR FROM IT HAHAHA. http://m.imgur.com/a/YfZ2l Ya so these type of games don't always live up to original hype but I'd take Destiny over what BL shipped as any day. Ya sure 5 BL games later and 30 dlc downloads later and they may have a winning formula for money but it's still far from what was "promised"
-
I don't get your point. It's a known fact that they simply changed the artstyle. At it's core, it really is diablo and mad max.
-
Do ppl not remember Destiny devs bagging on Borderlands in GameInformer? How Destiny's loot system was going to be soo much better bc the loot system is better? How the story and game world was bigger and deeper. Then I beat Destiny's story in a day, and had 7 exotics the 1st week, and now I destroy almost anything that isn't exotic. Thanks for my 7th Unfriendly Giant Destiny, gotta love diverse loot lol.

I wonder which Reddit thread Anthony Burch stole that joke from.
