I did the weekly nightfall strike solo today lvl 27 and got a decent fusion rifle. it was intense. I wish I could find people to do the raid with. Im not lvl 28 on xbox 360

Buy vanguard or crucible armor and break them down. Don't get helmets though, they're more expensive and provide the same amount of shards.

Do legendary items work the same way the blues and greens work, where if it has been upgraded at all it gives more materials? I've been using the bounty experience rewards on my greens and blues, level them up until i would have to spend something other than glimmer on them, then dismantling them for a bigger reward. Would that work for legendaries or no?

From what I have heard, you get more ascendant energies from leveled weapons, I can't remember if that is true about armor.

Something you could do is create a character for each class, and then put whatever ascendant shards you happen to get with each character in the tower's vault. That's essentially what I've been doing.

For shards, I honestly think the raid is your best bet. I got nothing BUT shards from it. (#thestruggle) You could also buy legendary armor from a vendor and dismantle it for some.

alts are the fastest way. it's how the first level 30 got there so fast.

alts is I guess an MMO term. It's a 2nd/3rd character. It's the fastest because you get them all to 20 and then start sending daily mats to one guy.
