Does anyone have any advice for aiming and shooting hand cannons/snipers/scouts in the air?
I'm a warlock and I feel like I have a really hard time placing shots while gliding around.
I know that usually, your shots are an instant hit if on target as there is no bullet travel time(even though the graphics make it appear differently) and so there's no reason to "lead targets". Is this different in the air?
It kinda feels like it sometimes. That or the trajectory of your bullets change depending on which direction you're traveling or something. Anyone know what's up?
Tl;dr
Air borne aiming tips please
Edit: thanks for all the replies. Yea angel of light is amazing for this stuff but I guess I should've specified also that I feel like I'm shooting as my red dot on my HC lines up with the target. That's more my question. Seems like its just a huge bullet spread like someone said. Any more tips greatly appreciated

If u have quick reactions, it helps; but otherwise, work on reacting fast by quickly aiming ur reticle on opponents at any range & situation accurately. The aim gets funky when descending from a jump, aim in just before hitting max jump height and drag reticle 2 the direction they're facing if not on target. A must with a sniper. Hip fire at all times b4 zooming in completely if u have an auto, scout, or pulse rifle to land a few shots in & give opponents wobble. this helps slot when jumping as it not only confuses your enemy, but can cause them to hestate/panic. Memorize where the aiming center on ur screen is without relying on the reticle. It'll make u a force in gunfights and react much faster through muscle memory making it look as if ure cheating by getting far quicker kills - This is extremely valuable when using a sniper when rushing with it or making jump shots or mid air shots. One of if not the most valuable thing u should get a habit of is always have your aiming center in the direction where opponents are likely to be or will be. Always be aiming at corners, ledges, and color changes/movements in the distance. Its essential in any shooter, combine arial shots with this and u can land far more hits than u think. Get used to moving your thumbs quicky from analog to buttons depending on your set up For aiming, have your right thumb "roll" over your analog for extra precision, while using your entire thumb movement quickly for larger movements/adjustments. I like to blink jump in place or to the side to get an advantage on others while shooting. It helps a lot more than u think, especially jumping out of a corner which can mess with an opponents meta XD Just be aware where your center aiming is at all times, especially b4 going airborne.

Get angel of light
-
Aim lower when coming down from the jump
-
Play the superior halo series instead.
-
Aim above the enemies head. So when you start going down, your bullets follow
-
Do not snipe in mid air, your bullet never goes where you're aiming.
-
It really depends on where the target is in relation to you. If you are above him and he's at a steep angle, aim below him and you normally hit him. You won't be able to have perfect accuracy every time, but you can usually ballpark it.

Pretty difficult if not using Angel of Light. Soon as you ADS you start to drop. Guess the answer is adjusting your aim to account for the speed of the drop, but will take some practice. Start on static targets in PvE, then ones that are moving predictably, etc, etc until you confident to try it in PvP. I've went back to VW after maxing SS and I miss AoL the most so am trying to do this whenever I can in patrol.

I'm pretty sure it makes your bullet spread huge. Almost typed butthole. Usually of someone is jumping mid shootout they'll die.

Your stability is affected if you attempt to fire at a target while in the air. The only class that isn't affected is Sunsingers using the Hover perk. Your best bet is to either shoot and hope it hits, or try to redirect to a good position while landing to either get away or to counter attack.

Use sunsingers hover ability
