Here's some key points of information:
Bionicle 2015 is a reboot.
- A new journey begins.
- New island of Okoto.
- They wanted to respect the roots, keep the mystic island and the biomechanical feeling.
- The Makuta and Toa are coming back.
- They’re bringing back the ultimate mask of power.
- They started with the original masks and looked at many ways of redesigning them into an edgier, more contemporary design.
- Each large character comes with a gold mask and an enemy, bug-like creature.
- A lot of people complained and thought that the masks popping off of the original line was a design flaw so they wanted to make it more clear that the feature is part of the design.
- Weapons convert into skis, flippers, etc.
- There will be smaller “protectors”, which will be lower price point sets with special masks and weapons that they can pass off to upgrade the larger characters.
- Trying to keep things simpler with less specialized terms.
- Went with an artistic design for animations similar to the Mata Nui Online Game since they work better with smaller screens and make it easier to include humor.
And Q/A from the panel:
Q: Will the animations be on television or will it be web content?
A: No television. Animations will be on YouTube and LEGO TV online.
Q: Will we see any of the old sets remade?
A: There are currently no plans to relaunch any sets from the past.
Q: Are there any of the original designers still working on the project?
A: There are two designers who were involved with original line.
Q: What other ways will we be able to learn about the stories?
A: There will be books in the second half of 2015.
Q: Will Greg Farshtey be writing the books?
A: No, he will not be writing the books. They will have a new team working across all content and all development. :,(
Q: How many new elements were designed for Bionicle?
A: Approximately 30.
Q: When will the sets be available?
A: January 1, 2015
Also, thethreevirtues on YouTube built the six Toa while they were at the event, which they were allowed to take with them.

And, that's all the info that's been rounded up. I'll edit the thread if I missed anything (which I probably did).
So yeah, hype! Discuss!
EDIT: Pricing!
Reporting from New York Comic Con, Comicbook.com presents information of the new/old line presented to press by LEGO accompanied by finalized renders of all the Toa, Protectors and the Lord of the Skull Spiders sets, along with pricing, set numbers and even piece counts. The Protectors will cost USD 9.99; Lord of the Skull Spiders, Gali, Lewa and Pohatu USD 15.99 and Tahu, Kopaka and Onua USD 19.99 each. There are set descriptions as well but they are a bit messed up so we will have to wait a bit for better ones. I know you've all been waiting for this moment - so get crazy discussing those sets!

Being 23... Is it bad I'm excited?

In posting this you have won the forums.

Is it bad that as a 17 year old I'm thrilled to see these coming out?
-
The Toa even have the same names!! That's an awesome nod to the OG series

The two researchers carried out their experiment on 29 baboons (Papio papio) of variable ages, which could freely perform the proposed exercise (this represents a large number of animals for this type of experiment). First of all, the baboons were shown two geometric shapes on a touch screen, for example two squares. After they touched one of these shapes, two other pairs of shapes appeared on the screen, such as: a triangle and a star for the first pair and two identical ovals for the second pair. To successfully complete the exercise and be rewarded, the animal had to touch the pair representing the same relation (of identity or difference) as the initial pair (here, the two ovals).

I was stoked until I saw the new story. Then I remembered it's a reboot and is supposed to be completely new and different. What I can't get around, though, is why the flaming fuck is Lewa the Toa of Jungle now and not Air?
-
The original Bionicle movies are the shit.

YASSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!! Phuck all of the Hero Factory posers; Bionicle is BACK!!!!

I was walking through A swap meet and I spotted one of those containers just full of Bionicle parts for like thirty dollars. I thought. I love making all sorts of odd robots with those. But being an adult I said no. Went home and a month later on a lark I looked up that Container. It was a Toys R Us special. It now -blam!-ing sells for like 600-1000 dollars. DOH!
-
*Starts crying hysterically* after so long..i need a hug...
-
Great now my brother kids are going to make me watch that movie with them
