Just how stupid are the Fallen? Has anyone noticed they are less like an invading army and more like well armed, nomadic, hobos? They are always just standing around some random and mostly unimportant places. Why? Are they protecting something? What are they protecting? Why aren’t they patrolling? They don’t even seem to have a camp. You know something like a bunch of logs around a fire with Vandals roasting stray cats or whatever the hell they eat. They might have like a tent or something too. They just seem to stand around day and night until you come by and pop their heads from 100+ yards. They should be getting very tired standing around that long. I knew a guy who passed out standing in one place too long. That kind of stuff is fairly common among humans. Real armies for over a thousand years have had camps or forts or bases where most of the soldiers hang out waiting for the rapidly moving excrement to collide with the overhead air circulation system. At that point they roll out in force (large numbers) and take the fight to the enemy. Kill a group of these guys and within a minute or so a ship will drop off a new group that look exactly the same down to the individual. How many guys do they need to lose before someone says “Ok, that place is dangerous. Seriously guys, we’ve lost over 20,934 of our men-like-somethings there in the last month. let’s create an ambush, maybe stand in a different place. Send a tank and some reinforcements or don’t send anyone back there. ”
They must have brought one hell of a fleet to supply that many disposable bullet catchers. In the first mission they seemed really smart because they have trip mines (instead of disposable guards) and they shoot flares to call in reinforcements. I’m pretty sure that during the first mission you shoot all of the mildly intelligent ones. I write “mildly intelligent” because even these geniuses get caught up in their own trip mines.
I read somewhere that the ones with only two arms left (dregs) are criminals of some sort. If that is true why is a race capable of interstellar travel conscripting criminals to serve in the regular army and giving them guns. That’s not professional or smart! They don’t even seem well trained ‘cause when they see me running at them from a quarter mile out they run and hide. Why are they missing arms? Was that some kind of punishment? I got thinking may be they weren’t criminals but children. So perhaps they are using children as their shock troops. If so I doubt they will make it to Destiny 2. Sending children to die on the front Stalingrad style isn’t a recipe for a robust population. Either way “the Fallen” sounds a lot more like a description of their collective Intelligence Quotient over the years than any sort of behavioral/moral issues.
Am I alone in noticing this?

I agree, they should buff fusion rifles.
-
They cut the arms off dregs to maintain a strict caste system in order that ether from Servitors is given mostly to the higher ups.
-
They get docked for cowardice, and they have to earn them back with shows of bravery

-
Cause Bungie can't make immersive worlds the right way :/
-
Each house has their own main ketch (giant command warship) like the one on Venus. The fallen just spread out and patrol the area as well as being sent around in their skiffs to explore areas further away from the ketch.

And what's with the vandals? Half of them are pretty good with the sniper, which must take decent skill, and the other half are such a bad shot they literally give them guns which have tracking bullets so they don't have to aim? So at the vandal academy are they just like "holy shit this guy's a moron. Ok screw this give him the easy gun" Is there no middle path for these guys between deadeye and blindfolded? Maybe half of their population is born with Down's syndrome?

Bro you're looking for something called a STORYLINE
They don't have time to explain why they don't have time to explain
The dreg lost their arms because they are lower class and can grow them back by showing their worth.
-
If you read the grimore you'll know why dreg have two arms.

Edited by MightyJonE: 12/21/2014 9:40:41 PMI swear that the AI has become worse following the game's release. In recent weeks, enemies have sometimes seemed much slower reacting to your presence. I've also noticed that the menus can also seem abit slower to respond

It's a "game" not real life boy

No mention for those bad ass Walkers? That dont walk? And that their heavily shielded legs are their crit spots? What is it made of aluminum alloy, beer cans, or some metalic painted plastic? Dont even get me started that when you hurt it, it's neck pops out for another crit spot? Which fallen authorized that to be built on their most powerful asset? Lord Vader did thats who
-
What's even worse is they kicked our ass so really the question is how smart are we hiding behind a big wall??
-
Actually, those 2 armed fallen (Dregs) only have 2 arms because they haven't proven themselves in combat. If a Fallen Dreg can prove itself, it is promoted to the rank of Vandal and is permitted to grow its second pair of arms.

New post idea: just how stupid are the titans?
incoming butthurt comments
On the subject of conscripting prisoners, have you ever heard of Starcraft 2? Yeah, they made it work. And fallen are crazy four armed cat eating space pirate aliens. Bewm

Post rating: 2/10. Reason: 20,934 is not a multiple of 7.

You may be surprised. When I was in the forces and we was on exercises we had trainers playing "enemy" You would come to a hut, camp somewhere in the arse end of a country, and they would be actually be walking around aimlessly just like the fallen in the cosmodrome.yer they sometimes were huddled around braziers etc but it does remind me of this. Seems fairly accurate to me..

Edited by The 7th fall: 11/6/2014 9:18:10 PMI wouldn't say the Fallen are just stupid, I'd say they're utterly stupid cowards, particularly the Captains...

I think it's weird how people are evaluating the enemy factions' intelligence. It's just quaint because I've seen more guardians miss jumps or run into light-switched mobs trying to melee their way through. Now who's the dumbest faction? Furthermore, guardians are making these judgements even though they don't know crap (in regards to our own story). Also, the loot cave. That's all I have to say about guardians.
-
Not as dumb as the vex: If there are a million or so vex units that are controlled by one mind that can teleport them at instant speed, why don't they teleport 100 units at once (instead of in futile waves) on top of the one dude who's about to kill their heart? These fellas need to get their priorities straight!

I read a ghost fragment about a promoted dreg. It said they were going to make him a pair of arms, and I was like… …What :|
