I'm not missing the point on IB. You're missing the point I'm trying to make.
So the way you see it is "I have friends I can play with anytime I want. I got to rank 3 the first day IB came out. Why can't everyone just be like me ?"
1st, no.. stop.
2nd, you sound like people who get an exotic through sheer luck and then xur comes around the corner selling the same exotic and you're complaining that anyone can buy the exotic that you feel you earned through whatever you want to call it.

I'm currently at rank 1. I tried going into Iron Banner solo and it doesn't work. I then made a new friend and joined Iron Banner as a fireteam. We started winning. I'm just trying to tell you how you can get rep. If you don't want to take my advice then don't. Don't expect Bungie to make it easier though for you for this event. I could care less about Xur selling exotics. If someone sucks at PVP and they have an exotic it's not going to make them a better player.

No trust me, I know that being in a fireteam is a huge advantage over a group of rando's. What I don't think you get though is even if you join up with another person or 2 which is what I try to do most of the time (definitely doesn't work out that way at all), you still have people who leave your team, leaving you with a man or more down from the other team.
