I think you are missing the point. Level advantages are there to show the power of your gear combined with your skill as a player. Now I get that a 27 with decent gear, maybe semi upgraded legendaries and an upgraded exotic for example with semi upgraded weapons can take out a level 30 if they do it right, but a level 5 should have no hope of killing a level 30, unless the 30 just stood there and did nothing. Their armor alone would just shatter to someone with a fully upgraded AR or Scout. Lower levels should be playing in normal crucible because there is the knowledge that level 20+s will be in the IB. a 20 can still kill a 30 if they use the terrain to their advantage or have teammates helping them, hence why it's a team based gametype, but in all honesty a 30 would probably just survive long enough to wipe out the 20 assuming the level 20 is alone and attempting to duke it out with him head on. But that is not how IB is right now. In fact it's just like regular crucible where your armor is doing absolutely nothing for you and your weapons are performing the same as they would in regular crucible modes so that is why many are upset about this. IB may as well not exist and the rewards be moved to the normal loot pool.
