I'll be addressing this in the Weekly Update.
Preview: Power Matters, but so does skill.

Edited by SoloPopo: 10/9/2014 3:46:09 PMThis is what is so great about Destiny, and few people realize it. Bungie has designed a level progression system in which it's possible to stand a chance, no matter what level you are. Earning levels gains players meaningful powers and abilities, but none those powers and abilities are over-powered, and they each take skill to use and master. It is clear that Bungie did not want lvl 30s to be impervious to lvl 2s, as most would expect to see in other MMO style games. If the game operated this way, winning and losing would boil down to nothing more than who grinded more at the end of the day. It has taken me a while to see the big picture, but as a long time fan, I can say that I love Destiny, and I am excited for the future; so long as Bungie sticks to their guns about what they know is right for the game.

Man I am with you on this, I love destiny and the gameplay, and as I play the crucible more I get better. But this was advertised as a level enabled event, and so it should play as one. Some of us put in time and effort to grind the marks and gear to eventually be able to show it off where it matters. No level 4,6 19,20 should be able to hang with a level 26 and up, remember when you first reached 26 and jumped into the night fall only to realize you were doing almost no damage to the adds, and it was dam near impossible to take down their shields, well that is what the iron banner is supposed to be. Its suppose to be me you and our gear, and its not, its just control where you earn rep for Iron banner, at a chance to get as a warlock 1 piece of armor.
-
The idea of being able to do practically no damage to higher level players may seem cool at first; it did to me, but think about what the game play would actually be like if this were the case.
-
Only, that's how the crucible is normally. This is the ONE event where your dedication to leveling up is supposed to pay off.

Edited by SoloPopo: 10/9/2014 3:40:24 PMLeveling doesn't turn you into an unstoppable hulk like you were hoping for, but it does pay off. Do you really want to be standing in place, trading bullets with your opponent for who knows how long, praying that you have more armor than he does? Iron banner would be nothing but a dick showing contest. "Lets see who can take more bullets to the face!" "I bet I can cause I'm better!"
-
I doubt it would be anything like that.
-
How exactly do you envision it.
-
How it is now, with slight level advantages. There are far too many variables for what you're suggesting.
-
Thank you for renewing my hope. Stay strong friend
-
You too man
-
Sweet armor by the way
-
Sweet Legendary Rocket launcher. I'm jelly.
-
It's possible to stand a chance no matter your level? So, a level 4 warlock should be able to solo Atheon with enough skill, right?
-
Don't be stupid, we are talking about PvP.
-
You did not specify.
-
The thread topic is Iron Banner and I'm referring to players attacking each other in my post.
-
Well I think he was banking on people you know using common sense ...
-
Fights level 20 AI enemy with level 17, does literally no sizable damage if at all. Fights fully decked out level 29/30 enemy in PVP using THE WORST WEAPON IN THE GAME on level 17 or lower character, demolishes them before they can get rid of your shield. With this logic you might as well let a team of level 2's straight out of the tutorial into the vanguard tiger strike playlist because "Level Advantages Enabled" is "on", and watch them -blam!-ing win.
-
Really DeeJ? A level 4 hitting a level 30? Hmmm, if I recall that doesn't equal demolishing things. It equals "Immune" regardless of your skill.
-
Edited by MrHappy215: 10/9/2014 5:23:54 AMSeriously deeJ are you -blam!-ing kidding me? How the -blam!- did this make it past the beta?! How did any of this? And what the duck is your problem with giving us half assed answers? Why all this mystical douchebaginess?? Can you give us a straight answer? With how I see -blam!-ing destiny coming along I could guess 4 months is how long this game will last if not the next game coming out for ps4 turns out to be more interesting then -blam!-ing RNG. Get your shit together bungie and you too DeeJ

Why can't just people enjoy the game and give the developers time to fix things...the game is pretty much brand new...its not like the issue with Halo 4 & Achievements not working ... now thats an issue worth complaing about... But everyone has a right to free speech so keep on complaining about wanting to kill everyone w/ a level 30 just because you have spent hours raiding in hard mode...lots of free time eh? :) and oh yea, YOUR FIRETEAM KICKS ASS, many props to all, because you were NEVER alone (for what I saw, didnt watch it all) ... why dont you try your experiement with randoms that dont give you cover, that dont stick around your flanks...go out there alone and see how fast your K/D goes down w/ your level 4....maybe I am wrong and you are a crucible god and have immortality as a perk...then I congratulate you and I bow down.... Overall, Iron Banner is a part of a game THAT JUST BARELY STARTED w/ glitches and bugs...not real combat...and yes, we all paid money, etc, and maybe they exagerated about this or that...but it is still a game and they need a bit of time to fix things if they arent working perfectly...so if you dont like how the game works...you have a right not to play it..........It is not "complete b.s." Goodluck to all those wanting to be Crucible Gods, Zeke PS - I get my ass kicked in crucible most of the time ... but I laugh and I say "good one f*cker, you got me" because IT IS A GAME.
-
Achievements not working ... now thats an issue worth complaing about...
What? That doesn't even affect gameplay. They've had years of working on this title. There's barely an excuse anymore. I enjoy playing, but I can't sit back and ignore the fact that glaring issues are still not being fixed.

This.
-
Typical Deej response. How anyone could still defend this game after this is beyond me. You LIED to us the consumer. End. Of. Story.
-
Pls don't insult DeeJ, he's doing his job, but Bungie has really failed us.
