I'll be addressing this in the Weekly Update.
Preview: Power Matters, but so does skill.

You're high, he still got like 7 kills? That shouldn't happen at all is the thing. Any one below 20 shouldn't even stand a chance in the iron banner. That's the point of iron banner, skill or no, it shouldn't happen. It should be a 0 and 19 K/D
-
LOL Level Advantage does not equal God Mode. And if it is anything like that other video, he could have gotten his kills cleaning up other people's messes.
-
If per say someone has 200 ehp in the normalized crucible and your suros deals 55 damage a headshot, that person will die in 4 shots, if in iron banner that same guy has 170 ehp at lvl 4, it will still take you 4 shots to kill the guy, this level of gear compression makes it appear that there are no diffrences. I think the lvl diffrences are even minor then what i am pulling out of my *ss here but at the very least iron banner should make the diffrence to be at least 1 shot, so that you need 4 shots to kill him while he needs 5 to kill you, right now lvls are so compressed and bonusses you receieve from 1300 armor vs 60 attack are so little, it barely registers on the floating numbers. 60 attack vs 1300 armor should at least make a 1 round diffrence, with in this case it does not as i see a Suros User shoot him at the same time with no outside intervention and they kill each other what sometimes often happens in pvp, witch it should not, because if one side is dead, bullets stop coming out of the barrel. But thats for another post.
-
nope.....i took out my level 7 warlock....same result. and im terrible at pvp. iron banner is a joke.
-
You got your ass locked in Iron Banner and that somehow proves it's broken? Does not compute....
-
and uhhhh just to ADD....... that was the ONLY match i had ever played with that character to......you are just an asshole. and for you my middle finger is up.
-
No, I'm saying a level 20+ has too much armor. The pewny lvl1 gun should do slivers to a high level guardian, not normal chunks. Or, if the pewny lvl 1 gun can do chunks then my, hypothetical, fully leveled exotic gun should do one shot kills on every one. See what I'm trying to say? :/
-
They do though. Was talking with other guy and the numbers say that my max Suros headshot kills in 4 shots(I think less). While in videos, these low level guys are emptying entire clips on guys. Go patrol cosmodrome and you'll see the AI do the same. You destroy dregs one on one then they fall back into a bigger group including vandals and then they unload on you. And if you are using a slow rate of fire weapon, you maybe SOL without headshot. Thats pretty much all this dude was doing. Get him away from his big bad fire team and he is a L8 dreg
-
wrong......i took on ppl head to head just me and them in an area lvl7 warlock and laid em to rest with half a clip of some crappy auto rifle. that shitty thing does 28 damage while my legendary auto is doin like 16. explain that......
-
And you got your ass kicked
-
I kinda see what your saying, but, I saw him go one on one in his video and he smoked them. At least twice. But I think we are getting hung up on guns and head shots. Look at it with basic numbers. A rifle with 60 attack (example) should NEVER penetrate a piece of armor with 304 defense. Let alone a suit of armor with a combined rating of 1300+. This conversation kinda reminds me of Monty Python and the Holy grail when those two guys are discussing the air speed velocity of a swallow carrying a coconut.

This ^

But when you go down and patrol the Cosmodrone, those L8 dregs do penetrate your obnoxiously powered armor. The game mechanics makes so you are strong but not god mode. You are essentially still L20 even with stronger armor, just the Power Levels a.k.a. Damage you give and receive change. So yes, I can take down guys with 4 headshots, but I can't sit out in the open like Rambo and expect to live very long.

Edited by Cyborg X JLA: 10/9/2014 8:40:23 AMThe other day I let a lowly dreg come at me just to test my newly acquired Fireborn resurrection ability. I never even got to test it because he absolutely failed to kill me, he kept slashing me and shooting me, but my Armor was regenerating faster than he could damage me. That is how IB is supposed to work in a 4 vs 28!
-
And the OP got a .38 K/D when he wasn't protected by his fire team.
-
Alright, good point. I see what your saying now. However, this guy still makes a valid point too though.

Edited by CaptainChortles: 10/9/2014 5:55:43 AM"Preview: TTK is the same regardless of level, Iron Banner is a lie." The damage sure as hell is the same regardless of Attack/Defense/Level. You MIGHT deal 30 damage instead of 32 (Galahad/Shadow Price style AR) if you're several levels below the enemy with 150 less Attack. Which makes... absolutely no difference because it will probably take the same amount of shots to kill. Power doesn't matter any more in Iron Banner than in regular Control. Unless higher levels have extra health, which they don't seem to.

Or... you know... could roll out with a patch early... instead of a week from now.

I wish someone could explain to me why I keep getting Motes of Light instead of Exotic or Legendary gear? 35 Motes, very annoying. I do raids, get Motes. Do strikes, get Motes. Do Crucible, get Motes. So very tired of it. Tired to the point of simply stopping playing altogether. Seriously, why does this keep happening? I do bounties left and right and I get Motes. Ugh. When I level up my Cryptarch rank I almost always get a Mote. Why?
-
When you are level 20, your experience bar changes over to motes of light and everytime you level up you get a mote. Everyone gets them like that.
-
That I understand, what I am saying is in Raid, Crucible, and nearly everything, I keep getting Motes as rewards, not gear. It is past frustrating. Yet I watch others do 1 mission, bounty, raid, or such and end up with exotics and legendary gear.
-
Use your motes to buy Exotic engrams with Xur.
-
99 motes but the exotic ain't one !
-
Yeah happens to me too. I almost got overdosed with motes. Those legendary engrams? I gave up on those, rather i will take my time building up my vanguard to get my shadow price.... Which is boring and stupid.
-
When you get a certain amount of XP past 20 you get a mote per "level up"
