Ps4, sorry.
I'll break down uneeded gear as well. My point is that I'd rather have a steady, slow supply of shards than have to spin the roulette wheel in trying to got more legendary drops.
I want those upgrade materials and strange coins coming for PEs and from the Cryptarch

I agree but in the now rare cases of getting the legendary engrams would you not rather essentialy choose between the item OR the mats? I doubt it would cause an overflow of either, considering how seldom they drop now.
