Alright. Been playing Iron Banner quite a bit, and I've gotta say, it needs a Black List. I'm sick of being short team members because people leave as soon as they hear, "You're falling behind. " I'm sick of having people drop in/out of the match to fill those spots, but they leave because they see they didn't drop into a match where they'll be carried to a quick win. There needs to be a time delay before people who ghosted out are allowed back into to the Iron Banner playlist. I also believe there needs to be a level requirement, at least 20, because while level 15's and similar are easy to kill, that's the problem: they're easy to kill, and not doing the team (MY team, selfishly admitted) any good. I understand that this is for fun, but the Iron Banner is different, because you don't get rep unless you win or complete an event bounty. It will take forever to make progress if the people that are just playing in the Iron Banner aren't actually PLAYING the Iron Banner. If they want to ghost out willingly, confine them to the standard Crucible matches for like 15 or 30 minutes. Rant = Over.

They should just make it like Dota2, leave a match, bared for 9min next offense 1hrs than 4hrs than 24hrs than 48hrs.
-
Should just give 1 rep for every kill, would make more sense. Plus a bonus for winning.
-
I often get pulled from the matches because of server failures. Damn farm animals...
-
It's ridiculous. These people are just wasting my time; too few people = no points = no win = no REP. And if people have magically pulled wins from nowhere with three people, great, but the average team does not. 99.99% of them just flop. Getting rank would be so much easier if the game either locked everyone in, or black listed the ghosters.
-
I agree fully but I (as evil as I am) wish for even harsher punishment. Jokes aside, this isn't only of concern in the Iron Banner but in the crucible in general. People who leave repeatedly should be temporarily banned from the crucible for x amount of minutes or hours if repeated again.
-
Iron Banner is a huge let down. Never have I felt weak against a lvl 21 in PvP until iron banner...
-
Best idea I've seen on here so far
-
Ok, no black list needed, no this or that. Ill tell you what will fix the problem Give.... Iron Banner Reputation.... even if.... Your team loses. Problem solved. Cant believe Bungie even allowed this to happen to begin with, they think people will stay just for the crucible marks they will likely have maxed out anyway? Seriously... /facepalm. Bungie has aloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooot to learn on how MMORPG mechanics like this work in relation to the playerbase. I honestly feel Bungie is going into something they really wish they didnt now.
-
You know ... Not saying this would solve the entire issue, but if players got awarded with some sort of rep for even losing, it may change some people's minds about exiting a match early if they are behind a lot. Blacklisting will also hurt those that didn't intentionally leave, but was kicked/booted because of game or networking issues. Black Ops 2 has a system that bans players for leaving matches early too many times for 5 minutes, but it also affects those that get kicked unintentionally. It's extreme and a better solution could probably be found by Bungie.

Edited by misterike: 10/8/2014 9:11:49 PMEvery solution has its downfall. If you add a blacklist people will bitch. You give the losers a little bit of rep people will say that it ruins the true purpose of being the best. If they leave it the way it is, all the fun is taken out of the experience since everyone bails within the first two minutes. I tend to agree that you should be yay tall to be able to ride this ride. Level 20 seems like an appropriate prerequisite for entering this event.
-
Or they could just give the same kind of rep as crucible when you lose
-
I don't think it should have a minimum level if someone wants to be murdered fine, but I agree that those quitting b*****s should be punished I say by losing 10 rep points.
-
Something needs to be done. I was just put into two matches, back to back, where the score was 19000 to 4500. Go back to crucible if you cant hang with the big dogs!
-
Level 15's have every right to try and earn the rep as well as you.
-
Its always fun starting a match and 4 min in, you see 2 of your guys sitting there doing nothing but giving free kills to the enemy. I've had it both sides though. i think i killed the same guy 5 times before it dawned on me he wasn't even there. You can't 100% blame bungie, I had my internet go out once and ended up with 1 kill and like 18 deaths... :( I just wish it would be able to flag leaches and put them all together.. the AFKrucible
-
Dude, i know they are big... But why?! I mean white can be just as good.. You just need to know to use them!
-
Do the losers have a chance for loot?
-
Find a team to play with
-
Tip: Go in with your own fireteam
-
Agreed, not to mention ppl that go to a secluded corner doing nothing for the whole game in waiting for their team to win and then quit if losing. I had one guy with 0 - 3 in my winning team once.
-
Statistically speaking , you will win due to L15s on the other team just as often as you will lose due to them being on your team.
-
I got disconnected from Iron Banner yesterday near the end of a match. It's not my connection either as I have decent fibre broadband. Plus it only seems to be Destiny this is happening in. Was Baboon. Given Destiny's reputation for having shoddy connections and kicks, I do not want penalised for Bungie's problems. I remember when Halo: Reach went live and there were some server issues. A lot of us couldn't stay connected for more than 2 minutes at a time. I ended up with the temporary bans multiple times because of a server issue. I understand there are people who quit deliberately, but for those of us who don't, penalties due to being disconnected will drive us from Destiny altogether.
-
It would be extremely easy for the game to tell who was disconnected and who "orbited" out.

There needs to be an etiquette that everyone respects. If your in, your in until the end even if getting splatted all over the place. Even when playing with randoms. one of the downsides of online/community gaming is that you have to play with others, who only care about themselves. It's called community for a reason.
