Let me explain why this is BULLSHIT. Rushing through is how you're gonna get the legendary. You're banking on the end roll. That's why everyone is playing Tiger. Go ahead, tell me that killing the enemies is what's gonna get me the legendary. Go ahead and tell that to the 20 hours and 10,000+ kills since the latest update that have failed to drop even a single legendary. Go ahead and try to convince me that killing the enemies is gonna do anything but waste my time. I swear to God there isn't anything to combat that. 10,000+ kills, no legendary engrams. That's all the proof I need that enemies aren't gonna give me $#!+. 10-15 minutes and then the roll is my only hope since Bungie has decided to make sure that you can't actually enjoy the game, that you have to grind like h€££ if you want something good. 72 hours of gameplay and I still don't have full legendary armor. Argue with me, go ahead. There's not a d@#₦ thing you can say.

I've got less than 72 hrs. I also have full legendary gear with an exotic. I have an exotic weapon. I usually run 4-5 strikes at a time. Afterwards, I head to the Tower with engrams falling out of my pockets. Each strike generally gives more as I go. I get more from playing the strike than I do the end reward which is usually just ascendant materials anyway.
-
RNG favors you then. I, on the other hand, head back to the tower with the two blues from the end roll (I do actually kill most of the enemies except for the ones in the beginning of the Mars strike. I was defending those with the logic I'm about to impart on strikes because of the RNG) and maybe one from the kills. I got my exotic helmet from the two exotic engrams I bought from Xur. So, while the RNG is nice to you, it is a complete a$$ho£€ to me.
-
It doesn't get nice till about halfway through the second strike. The more strikes I do, the more engrams I start getting. The longer you play the more the RNG starts working, at least a little, in your favor. If nothing else, you can use your Vanguard marks to purchase gear. That's how I got my gauntlets and chest piece. Working towards a legendary primary.
-
The only problem is that the legendaries (that I want, I want the shoulders with the big @$$ blade on the forearm, armada type 3 maybe) don't fit my style. I'm solely scout rifles, snipers, and LMG. I plan on buying them anyways, but my Titans vanguard rank is only 1.
-
Edited by AtomSwitchblade: 10/6/2014 9:47:04 PMDo more strikes. Tiger playlist gets you 25 rep each strike. 4 strikes is 100 rep. Load up bounties before you go. 1solid run you could complete at least a couple. Giving you more rep. You just need to learn to work the system. Also, certain guns, armor, shaders, etc can be found on certain planets. Check out wikis to find out which.
-
Yeah, I know. I never needed to do strikes before which is why my rank is only 1. I used to just patrol and kill whatever crossed my path. But as I've commented somewhere else on my post, I can only play strikes when my friend is on so I can rejoin him since the servers kick me when I try to do anything. Like right now, I can only do patrol because he's working and and he's the only one of my friends with a One, everyone else still has the 360. Hopefully this hot fix will help with this problem.

I picked up a legendary SR this weekend just farming Venus for Spirit Bloom and other upgrade materials. Trying to find was to game the game's economy just slows you down. Also raided the Queens arsenal after reaching Rank 3 Full arsenal of Near legendary weapons for glimmer.

Edited by Uriyaal: 10/6/2014 10:54:04 AMand your just trolling, clicked your name your almost completly legendaryed out.... literally 1 slot missing a legendary item, with 2 level 26 toons. your other toon missing 3 slots but has an exotic....
-
Edited by GH05T V1P3R: 10/6/2014 1:49:20 PMNot trolling. I'm missing that one piece of armor for both Titan and Warlock. The hunter I haven't even touched, I got gear from playing as the other two. The legendary chest on my Titan is from queen's wrath. Both exotic helmets I got from an exotic engram I purchased from Xur with the 46 motes I had. So, no I'm not trolling. I'm stating the way the game is now. I have gotten a single legendary since the update from leveling up the cryptarch.
-
EXACTLY THIS
-
I have found 3 since the update, 2 weapons and 1 helmet, the helmet turned into 2 shards both weapon engrams turned into energy. Can someone explain to me how thats a good -blam!-ing idea?!?!?!?! If I wanted mats id break the -blam!-ers down!!!!!!

Edited by TheArtist: 10/6/2014 12:44:45 PMRead my lips. Ascendant Energy and Shards are the MOST VALUABLE materials in the game. MORE valuable to you than a legendary weapon or armor. You can effectively do the raid WITHOUT legendaries if you've got good rares, and you're high enough level. You cannot---I reapeat, cannot---fully upgrade any exotic or legendary items without shards or energy. In fact the "Unique" weapons the Queen's Emissary unlocks for those who get their reputation up to rank 3 are the equivalent of ANY Legendary weapon....until you start to upgrade them with Ascendent Energy. Once people who have done the VoG and have raid gear...going back in to get shards or energy is the main reason why they keep doing the raid.
-
Edited by Exalted Evil: 10/7/2014 8:46:25 AMNo shit. My point is that I can dismantle said items for the mats (if I need them) giving the mats iNSTEAD of the item is utterly retarded. I have all the energy I need and am just saving my shards till I get the rest of the raid gear. And for the record, the weapons you buy from the queens emissary are rares they are NOT legendary equivalent.
-
No, it is NOT retarded. Because you stand a much better chance of being awarded the materials than you do any legendary gear.....and any one with legendary gear knows that the materials are one of the most precious resources in the game. The only difference between the weapons in the Queen's aresenal AT RANK 3, and a Legendary weapon is that you can upgrade a legendary to Attack rating 300. But that can only be done with Ascendent Energy. If you look at your legendary weapons, you'll see that they'll max out at about 267 attack rating (just like the Queen's rank 3 arsenal) until you start upgradeing them with AE. Exotic weapons, IIRC will get into the 280s. So, unless you are well into raiding, the weapons from the Queen's Arsenal will perform like a Legendary...and get you into the VoG. Which was the whole point of the event. To expand the pool of people who are geared up to do the raid.
-
Are you shitting me right now? Since you clearly don't get my point, I'll try again *grabs a brightly coloured crayon* A legendary weapon when broken down will give me atleast 2 ascendant energy, legendary armour when broken down will give me atleast 2 ascendant shards, still with me so far? So, if my legendary armour engram turns into legendary armour that I DON'T want I can easily break it down for shards, if my legendary weapon engram turns into a legendary weapon I DON'T want I can easily break it down for energy, hence the reason just giving the mats IS retarded. Daily, weeklies, raid x3 characters means I'm not exactly lacking in mats.
-
(grabs braille machine) Stop just thinking about your own needs, and look at the game as a whole. There are only about three ways you can earn legendary gear. There are about a DOZEN ways you can earn materials. The way you mention is really only open to those players who have a regular FT that they can play with. Whereas most of the ways in which materials can be earned are easily accessible even by solo player. The game isn't structured to fulfill ONLY your personal needs. The game is structured so that MANY people in MANY different circumstances can have pathways to get what they need rom the game.
-
Exactly the reason it should give you the weapon/armour, if you don't need or want said item all you see are mats, if however you do need or want the item, I hope to god you see where I'm going with this. You yourself said that the queens missions were to equip those that don't have legendary gear, what good are mats if you don't have the gear to use them on?
-
Okay, one last time. 1. The Queens Wrath was a special event. 2. When there are no special events, the opportunities to win armor to GET the materials is limited, and very difficult to access for people who play solo or don't have a regular fireteam. 3. Awarding of materials serves two purposes. It gives solo players---through activities they can readily access---the opportunity to advance thorugh the game if they cannot put together ar regular team to do weekly activities or raid. ...and obtain their gear through either drops, earning marks, or as rewards for levelling up their cryptarch or Vanguard rep over team. ONLY the person who is raiding on a regular basis is in ANY position to "complain" about getting Ascendent Materials. Because, to everyone else, they are rarer and more precious than even armor and weapons they serve to upgrade.
-
Are you slow?
-
No. Just talking to someone who is either unable or unwilling to see beyond his own needs. So what I am saying isn't making much sense to him. But you may want to notice that you are the only person complaining about getting shards/AE. Think about it.
-
I think you must be slow. So you are saying that, if you got a legendary weapon that was better then the one you have you would be upset that you didn't get energy? Even though you can just dismantle the weapon to get the energy. IF YOU NEED THE MATS YOU CAN DISMANTLE THE ITEM TO GET THEM. How is getting just the materials from legendary engramsnot getting jipped?
-
Edited by TheArtist: 10/7/2014 1:46:58 PMI'm not slow at all. YouR ability to see things beyond your own point of view is apparently limited. 1. Right now I've got 5 or 6 Legendary weapons and multiple sets of legendary Armor. Most of which are maxxed out from regular upgrade materials, and CRAVING shards or energy to finish them. Until I get them I am stuck at level 27. So the notion that I would be "upset" at getting the materials I need is rather foolish. 2. If I get a legendary weapon or armor that I can't use...I'm willing to break them down for the materials, but as a solo player I get FAR more opportunties to earn materials than I do to get armor. YET I STILL DON'T HAVE ANYWHERE NEAR ENOUGH FOR WHAT I NEED. So to forgo those opportunies to get materials in some vain hope of getting armor or weapons more often is equally foolish. Especially, if I play my cards right, I can get shards or energy everyday from public events, or every few days from levelling up my Cryptarch. The game is designed to be played many different ways, by many differnet players in many different situations. The problem isn't that I'm "slow"..its that you seem to think that only YOUR situation and YOUR needs are the only legitimate ones here.
-
Okay, you win, I give up. Anyone know of a brick wall I can argue with next?
-
Sure. If you can give me any suggestions on how to explain the concept of "blue" to a colorblind man who thinks that the notion that "blue" and "green" are different colors is a sign of mental illness? Like so many self-absorbed people you make the mistake of assuming that anyone who doesn't see the things the way you do, simply doesn't UNDERSTAND the situation. I *understand* the situation quite clearly. I just have a situation that is different than yours. I play the game differently than you do...and I have the perspective to understand that the game needs to meet the needs of a WIDE VARIETY of players. Not just yours.
-
Okay retard, if you can get the materials from dismantling the items why would you prefer just the materials. Lets say I get a legendary primary engram, my current primary is Dr nope and the engram gives me Dr nope but with better perks than the one I have, what do I do? Well, I equip the better version and dismantle the old one for ascendant energy. Now, lets say it gives me something entirely different but still better, what do I do? I equip the better weapon and dismantle the old one for ascendant energy. Now, lets say it gives me something worse, what do I do? Well, I dismantle the new albeit worse weapon for, you guessed it, ascendant energy. Now, lets say the first legendary engram I have found in days turns into JUST ascendant energy, what do I do? You guessed it, wish it gave me a better weapon but, even if it didn't I can always dismantle it into..................ASCENDANT ENERGY........................
