Bungie - my concerns regarding breaking down exotic gear.
I recently finished my first Nightfall mission (solo, at that!) and was rewarded with the amazing exotic weapon Gjallarhorn. Interestingly enough, I had recently purchased this fiery destroyer of all living things from Xur a few weeks back. What to do with a duplicate exotic? I had never been in this situation before. I wasn't upset though - I was rather excited to see what awesome materials exotics would break down into that could further help me advance my characters! So, I happily broke it down and...
...I received the same materials as when breaking down a legendary weapon.
Is this intentional? I understand that ascendant materials are hard to come by (and rightly so) but shouldn't breaking down and EXOTIC yield more than what a legendary does? Even one more ascendant material would be something...Has anyone else had this happen? Do you think breaking down exotics should be slightly more rewarding than legendaries? I do. Perhaps throw in an extra ascendant and/or a few strange coins/motes of light, maybe even have it break down into a legendary of the same type and a few ascendant materials? What's the deal, Bungie? I'm not upset or anything, just kind of confused. I'd appreciate some feedback! Thank you!
