I race through them because I want my damned marks, and to get to the reward screen faster. I've figure out speed-run paths, so that's what I take. Rushing means I get the missions done with faster, which I can get more missions done faster, which nets me more engrams faster. I don't rely on strikes for legendaries, I rely on the Cryptarch's leveling-up mail. I've been quite lucky with Mr. Crypt and his mail.

Your reasoning is incorrect. Drops are RNG based therefore you must kill MORE not LESS. You might be getting blue engrams for finishing the mission but you're missing out on the engrams you get from normal kills to go with those end of mission rewards. I can understand skipping the free roam mobs but skipping the strike mobs are not good for you or anybody else.

Coffee is correct. The less drop chances you give yourself, the fewer you get. You get the 2 for sure at the end, but then you're missing the point: What you want to do is kill things faster, and get to the end faster, and rinse and repeat faster. So the real way to get more engrams isn't to speed through like a derp. It's to get better, find ways to kill things faster, don't die etc. The RNG rewards multiple instances. So the faster you create those instances (kills) the faster you'll get the rewards. Focus on getting awesome and killing lots of things quickly, rather than just racing to the end. What the hell is your gear for anyway if not to kill things? ~Ricochet
