It's getting to be a common thing now during the Lvl 24 Strikes that I see these kids race as fast as they can through the Strike usually hopping on their speeder bypassing the first several mobs of lower level enemies which is fine but then they continue on and bypass as many of the Lvl 24 enemies as they can just to get to the final boss quicker.
Why? The boss gives you nothing and your chances of getting anything worthwhile from the end game roll are poor odds for the amount of time it takes to complete each Strike. Your best shot of getting a Legendary Engram drop or at least multiple blue Engrams to give you a chance at Legendary gear and to rank up the Cryptarch is to kill every Lvl 24 enemy up to the boss because that is where all of my Legendary Engrams have come from and I get at least half of my blue Engrams from Mob drops to go along with what I get in the end game roll.
The Lvl 24 Tiger Strikes since the last patch appear to have a higher drop rate than the normal game modes at least in the areas you're facing Lvl 24 enemies, and so bypassing them to finish the Strike faster is just decreasing your chance of getting multiple drops. There's little other reason to be grinding Lvl 24 Strikes in that manner because you can earn Vanguard rep faster farming Patrols, Vanguard Marks faster farming Public Events, and if you need a bunch of Strikes for a Bounty run the Lvl 8 Devil's Lair on Earth and get them done quick.
So don't be that guy that runs way out ahead of everyone else. Don't waste you and your teammates chances for more Legendary/Exotic drops. It doesn't take but an extra 5 minutes or so to clear out all the Lvl 24 enemies your bypassing between you and the Boss when you do it as a group.

i totally agree.
-
I'd be fine with rushers, hell atleast all 3 players staying in the game for the first 15 seconds would be great. Assholes that just leave because they get the strike they "dont like" like come on grow up.
-
look ive done those same strikes over 100 times, i just want to get them done at this point
-
Get friends, stop expecting randoms to play how you want to play. Also, rewards are the best chance for legendary - not the random drops.
-
Man, people like you need to stop bitching about us rushing strikes. If you want to waste your time, feel free, but don't think you can waste mine. If you want to farm pointless enemies, feel free, but don't come onto the forums to bitch about those who treat strikes like, oh, you know, a strike. Which almost literally means, fast and hard. They have a mode for idiots like you and its called patrol, not strike. Seriously man, who in the -blam!- are you to tell another person how the style in which they play a game they paid for is bad because it inconveniences you. You sure got a lot of nerve, you asshole.
-
you farm in patrol... you do strikes to do strikes.
-
Sorry that I'm trying to get a couple strikes in to get my vanguard points. I have wife, kids, and a job. Can't spend hours a day on it. Game seems like u have to spend 3 plus hours a day to get anywhere. And you have a daily strike and daily public event to do as well. Which the public event to me lately seems to be almost never.

Edited by III K1LLER III: 10/6/2014 3:22:23 PMDon't rush lvl 24 strikes? Lmao, what am I going to get out of a lvl 24 strike. I play to get what I need and leave. #lowlvlproblems

The Destiny Police has spoken!
-
I'll proudly declare that I race through the trash Mobs to get to the higher level ones. The entire reason to be doing strikes is lucky loot drops, bounties, marks, and rep. By skipping the trash your making the grind shorter. No one wants the 20 min strike run they've run over and over to take 40 mins because people want to kill every single lvl 8 mob they see.
-
I skip the level 8 enemies but fight all the others.
-
Sorry but if you stick around to kill every enemy, you are the one wasting time. It's been said several times already but I will say it again: you patrol to farm, you do strikes to do strikes... The rewards at the end have a greater chance at giving you a legendary than the mobs ever would....
-
I agree with you it can get annoying. I do the same on the low lvl nexus mission but not a lvl24. I am trying to get those 25 strikes for the bad juju bounty.
-
We need a lv28 playlist with higher legendary drops
-
I play Stikes for the “Strike” parts, not for killing the same roaming lvl 8’s and 16’s that I can farm during the obligatory 6 patrols bounty for that destination. I will speed ahead and wait patiently for the rest of my team at the first “Strike” section. I enjoy working with my team to kill the boss or complete the wave, at level 28 the rest just bores me now.
-
WTf are you talking about? I get 2 legendaries in 30 mins or less just by the engram chances.....go do some math.
-
Some people have bounties that they must do x amount of strikes without dying and want to get them done fast (Invective Shotgun is one I did last night).
-
I only did that fo 5 times for an exotic bounty. Time to go back and murder me some fallen.
-
The chances of getting a legendary engram during a strike is dismal at best. You have a better chance of rushing through the strike and pray you get a legendary as a reward. This of course only works on the Tiger Playlist.
-
I see people doing this I put my controller down and do somthing else. Idc if u get pissed or not stop running to the end of the strikes. It's stupid. I play my strikes to kill everything idrc if it annoys people or not quit crying its part of the game. I'm Gona kill everything. Or u can ki the boss yourself. If so enjoy. This is why I hate people who don't know how to play the game
-
I've gotten stuff every endgame roll-but yeah skipping enemies is a bad idea
-
If my team mates want to rush ahead to the boss that's their prerogative, I still kill everything on the way there.
-
THAAAAAAANK YOOOOOOOU!
-
Really the only times i sprint past enemies that are apart of the mission is if the game throws me on the same strike 3 times in a row or if i have a bounty to finish that strike. And FYI on the tiger strike playlist besides the normal reward you are promised either another blue or something legendary upon completing it.

Edited by unit under fire: 10/6/2014 2:33:32 PMI suppose you have hard statistics on this so called "higher drop rate" in spawn restricted zones? Oh wait... #let'sMakeUpFacts
-
Edited by majthomp: 10/6/2014 2:30:56 PMfunny I rush tiger strikes 24/7 and ignore anything that isnt required of me to kill AND i still have the most kills 98% of the time. so not only do i usually have the best chance of getting drops(most kills) but i also beat the strike quickly. people killing adds that don't need to be killed to progress through the strike are just wasting my time.
