It's getting to be a common thing now during the Lvl 24 Strikes that I see these kids race as fast as they can through the Strike usually hopping on their speeder bypassing the first several mobs of lower level enemies which is fine but then they continue on and bypass as many of the Lvl 24 enemies as they can just to get to the final boss quicker.
Why? The boss gives you nothing and your chances of getting anything worthwhile from the end game roll are poor odds for the amount of time it takes to complete each Strike. Your best shot of getting a Legendary Engram drop or at least multiple blue Engrams to give you a chance at Legendary gear and to rank up the Cryptarch is to kill every Lvl 24 enemy up to the boss because that is where all of my Legendary Engrams have come from and I get at least half of my blue Engrams from Mob drops to go along with what I get in the end game roll.
The Lvl 24 Tiger Strikes since the last patch appear to have a higher drop rate than the normal game modes at least in the areas you're facing Lvl 24 enemies, and so bypassing them to finish the Strike faster is just decreasing your chance of getting multiple drops. There's little other reason to be grinding Lvl 24 Strikes in that manner because you can earn Vanguard rep faster farming Patrols, Vanguard Marks faster farming Public Events, and if you need a bunch of Strikes for a Bounty run the Lvl 8 Devil's Lair on Earth and get them done quick.
So don't be that guy that runs way out ahead of everyone else. Don't waste you and your teammates chances for more Legendary/Exotic drops. It doesn't take but an extra 5 minutes or so to clear out all the Lvl 24 enemies your bypassing between you and the Boss when you do it as a group.

Maybe if the strikes weren't so boring people would enjoy playing them.
-
I got a legendary engram at the completion of the daily heroic. (before the loot screen) complete the strike get loot, move on to next one get more loot. See the logic.
-
You're the one wasting time faffing about with the exact same enemies you'll see in that area on patrol, when the level 24's start rolling in, that's when I view the strike starting.
-
Since I don't see the point, I'll just continue to race through strikes. It's the freeloaders that you need to bitch about. Not the people racing through strikes.
-
Kill them all....let the gods sort them out!
-
For me, it depends. If I see people rushing though, I'll rush too. If they wanna kill every single enemy, I'm down too. But if you are rushing through. Better rush through everything. Don't halfass it.
-
^ thanks for making this thread. Sick of people racing through.
-
The exotics come from the reward screen.
-
I race through them because I want my damned marks, and to get to the reward screen faster. I've figure out speed-run paths, so that's what I take. Rushing means I get the missions done with faster, which I can get more missions done faster, which nets me more engrams faster. I don't rely on strikes for legendaries, I rely on the Cryptarch's leveling-up mail. I've been quite lucky with Mr. Crypt and his mail.
-
Remember in wow how people dont kill most adds? Here it is. I bypass all of them and finish in a few minutes. I dont give a shit.
-
Running through strikes as fast as possible works fine for me. Got Universal Remote by doing so. Killing every single enemy that you don't have to kill in order to progress, is a waste of time.
-
I think they just want the rep and marks. Engrams are worthless when you get high enough.
-
Actually no, this is no longer the case after the patch
-
Can't say it's been my experience, I just ground out 25 of them for the Bad Juju and in the beginning I took my time and done them 100%, by the end I was sick of strikes and I raced right through to the final boss, for 25 strikes not one single Legendary Engram or weapon.

I play for the glory
The Lvl 24 Strikes have a higher drop rate than the normal game modes
Source? Not trying to come at you, just trying to brun down the rumor mill, you know how it is.

If I want to waste my time trying to get a random drop from nothing enemies I'll go farm that new loot cave, I don't do that because it would be boring and pointless, just like wasting my time in strikes killing enemies that don't need to be killed. If they're right in front of me and in my way (if I'm not on my sparrow speeding to an objective) I kill them because why not, but going out of your way to kill low level mooks is idiotic, these strikes take long enough as it is and there's no call whatsoever to drag them out hoping for a handout that's not even likely to happen. I got most of my legendaries and exotics either by purchasing them from the factions, completing the weeklies and dailies, or in the Raid, and you don't get any of that done if you waste all your time killing trash. If you want legendaries and exotics, do bounties and save up all your marks each week (and work on Rep with the factions if you haven't already). And if you haven't already made three characters you should, all the limits on activities will hold you back otherwise, and doing the weeklies and the raid on three characters per week makes all the difference trying to get stuff quickly. And if you make duplicate characters that are all the same class then you can gear swap between them and save yourself the time and bother of needing to get high level on a new character from scratch, just get to level 20 and instantly go up to whatever light level your first character is just by swapping your gear, I just got my third Warlock to level 20 last night and within an hour I was running the Raid with him and got Aetheon's Epilogue (my gear gets whichever character I'm using to 29, I can even solo the weeklies without much trouble, though with the Nightfall that's mainly because I can res myself if I go down... There's a reason I made three Warlocks, Fireborn ftw).

Will say this in everyone of these threads: Bungie needs to put in a solo option for all strikes. Let people play at their own pace.
-
Ok.... I'll slow down.
-
I'm guy that wants to kill everything so most the time i' blasting fools to get extra engrams. Usually catch up with the speedy kids at some point. But everyone has their own agenda for doing the strikes with does effect the team idea for some strikes.
-
First at all you could stay back and kill all the monsters if you want, they aren't stopping you. Second, have in mind that many of these people is trying to finish the Bad Juju bounty which requires you to complete 25 strikes, in order to do this you don't have to kill all the monsters, it gets boring, trust me. And finally, before the Cryptarch patch it was worth to kill every single monster and then the boss (because of higher chances of drop) however this patch turned this around; you get low chances of legendary and rare engrams dropping but you are going to get an rare/legendary engram (for sure) plus random items (from rare to exotics). So think about it.

Wrong joined a strike on boss got 1 kill got hard light at the end its all rng.

Edited by trong: 10/6/2014 12:06:16 PM*NEWS FLASH* Some people speed through Strikes for the Vanguard marks & Rep, not just for loot!!!!! Quit crying...
-
Nobody says that you have to rush through along with the person rushing through unless your the only one taking your time in it then you wouldn't have a choice but by the time you and a friend clear the strike person 3 will be fighting the boss still. Unless he/she has a badass arsenal of gear to kill the boss in under 5 minutes it doesn't hurt any thing but the rusher missing out on the mob drops. Most every one I see rushing are 27+ in level and don't need to kill every thing on sight.
The Lvl 24 Strikes have a higher drop rate than the normal game modes, at least in the Spawn Restricted areas
Unless you have a source, that isn't true. The RNG is the same throughout the different PvE modes.

You ain't the boss of me. I'll play how I want. Stop trying to force people to play the way you want them to. Your not king of the realm of Destiny.
