No more Strange Coins from chests, engrams, events, random sources ?
What's the deal here ? Did I miss a patch note ? Since the patch I have gotten ZERO Strange coins from chests, engrams, public events or ANY random source that would normally provide them (on rare opportunities). And I have been trying like crazy to get just one more. The ones for the weekly heroic strike are awared as advertized, but since the patch I have not been able to aquire even just ONE by other means. Just shit luck ?
Not being able to get just ONE MORE coin for days and therefore missing something you want from Xur (wanted Red Death for kicks) is beyond frustrating.
I've also noticed the rewards for gold tier on public events have been significantly lowered. From like 30ish events I have gotten ONE Ascendant Energy and that's it. ONE.
Cryptarch less of an a-hole now, but all other (usefull loot) sources nerfed to hell ? What gives ? Am I having a streak of bad luck ? Not to mention, I haven't seen a purple engram in a while either .....

Even though bungie "increased the drop rate of engrams" they probably secretly decreased the drop chance of legendary engrams, since the cryptarch patch I've only gotten 2 drops. I have gotten some from the daily and one from a strike. But yeah I have yet to get legendary engrams from chests since.

1 ReplyI'm encountering the same issue you had last week. Does anyone know whats causing this and what the fix might be? Its annoying to go through 30 blue engrams in 3 days and not get a single mote of light or strange coin.

3 RepliesHeh, how did this get 3 replies 6 DAYS after I made the post ? :) Funny how these things go. BUT ..... about half a day or a little more after I made this post stuff actually happend. Rewards started working again and with the weekly reset everything was back to the way it should be. It would seem (not confirmed) that hitting the weekly max on Vanguard marks actually blocks a lot more that just Vanguard mark earnings. That would be my impression after this. I'll hit the max today for sure even tho I tried not to get to close but ........ I'll see if that has any effect on the other Vanguard related rewards such as coins and mats. May still all be shit luck and stuff, never know with random systems. RNG is great to hide odd mechanics and rush-jobs behind :)

1 ReplyWell tbh i get all mine from chests and engrams. No mm for weekly = me not bothering to find a group. ( raid i understand ). Depends on luck realy. When on a farming run i open so mutch chests i dont even look what i get annymore. But did notice the coin count kept going up so id say its all about luck realy.

Got a strange coin from chest today its just really rare man, its like finding a legendary in a chest tbh

Actually while attempting this weeks heroic strike to get strange coins.... And failed I returned to the tower with my blue engrams in disgrace, since I only needed one more strange coin to get an exotic armour piece. Upon decoding a decoherent boot engram I got the one I needed. You're just unlucky I think :/

I have 11 strange coin and i need only 2 for the warlock exotic chest, i reached 98 vangaurd mark for playing strike,played alot of iron banner-clash,i did alot of public events and still havent got any strange coin, I don't know if this is a problem or we have the same luck, i only need 2 coins );
