Bungie needs to add a ranged titan super to Destiny, why?? because every class in Destiny has a ranged super besides for Titans. Warlocks can get midrange kills with the nova bomb, or get buffs with sun-singer, and Hunters can use Golden Gun. This lack of a projectile super becomes especially apparent during boss-fights.
The reason this came up was because I was playing the weekly heroic strike with three defender titans when the Summoning pits was the weekly heroic strike, so I decided to switch to Striker codex. However Fist of Havoc's attack just seemed to just roll off Phogoth instead of damaging him, and he would immediately counter by insta-killing me. So when I ask for a ranged super, I don't mean "long-range" or even "medium range", I just mean a projectable offensive super which can be used to damage a boss, while the player can still be far enough away from the boss not to get blasted by the bosses proximity attack (Some examples of proximity attacks would be; Phogoth and Archon priest both doing an insta-kill stomp, and Fallen Walkers releasing Arc grenades).
Also this 3rd subclass should be a solar damage subclass, because Titans only have Void and Arc subclasses for now. Also warlocks and hunters would be getting subclasses for their respective missing elemental type as well.

this is not the role that is ment for the Titan. its the same that i want a scope on my hc so that i can shoot mobs from 10 mile away. so i disagree.

If the third subclass is solar, then titans should get the ability to punch so fast and with so much power that they send the air itself in a swirling vortex of flame thus making a ranged super. (The flame would come from the friction of the punch)

You could try the Shockwave skill with your Fist of Havoc. It's not really long range but it does travel a fair distance. That's what I use.

Would be cool if Titans could throw one of those bombs found in the winters run strike. Like the ghost teleports one for the Titan to throw as his super. The bomb has a blast radius about the same size as fist of havoc and nova bomb. Oh and the new solar Titan will have a falcon punch melee ability. It is a one hit ko, but he has to say "falcon" before he punches while saying "punch". If two titans hit each other with simultaneous falcon punches the game will crash. Error code: captain

Like most Titan even used ranged weapons & when you see one that uses range it breaks the universe because they're doing something right. But now you want a ranged super.... you rush at everyone with shotguns, no Titan should have universal remote, 1 shot with your fist that it also happens to refill HP, are literally unkillable in a shield, ground pound flies you to foes & not to mention kills everything above you when it's to kill foes around you, a running shield infront of your face, you have that cozy corner with that leather seat & a coffee holder for you to sit in with that uncommon shotgun of yours that can kill higher level people in 1 shot or if your not in the mood for that today you have a fusion rifle to lay in your lap instead, a special 1 shot tackle, increased defense, & now you want a ranged attack.... I'll just make you super man while i'm at it so you can flying 1 shot punch a guy across the map & get it over with. That said I enjoy every class & think they're fine as is but it's more about what some people do with classes that is the issue the idea is fine but think of the potential for abuse. The system maybe perfect but people will choose to break it.

Voidwalker is pointless in raids, you're considered an idiot if you can't self-res in any serious PvE content. Raid setups for everyone are supposed to be Defender, Sunsinger and Gunslinger. Now these all work in PvP too, but Striker, Voidwalker and Bladedancer are all kind of pointless in a raid. Yeah you can nuke the boss with Nova Bomb, but so what? You need to be able to self-res to save your team the trouble of saving you if you go down, and also you can potentially prevent a wipe if you self-res at the right moment. As for why Hunters are the best CQC super, I don't know, the entire mechanic behind the Bladedance super does seem more fitting for a Titan, but oh well. They have to run around and manually kill their targets, Striker can just jump into a crowd and wipe out everyone, so I guess they balance out.

I think the fist of Havoc is the best super. It's almost impossible to die using it.

I caught a captain in my bubble the other day and stuck a grenade to him. The damage boost obliterated him.

It kinda has range it's just not extended range, fist of havoc has the shockwave the travels on the ground quite a way, and the aerial version is pretty sweet not exactly ranged but you can aim it

If every class had a ranged super they would all be the exact same and there would be no point in choosing. Warlocks can take out groups at long range and revive themselves. Hunters can do massive damage to a single target or take out multiple enemies zipping around the battlefield. Titans can take out groups at close range or shield himself and team mates. Titans don't need a ranged super, you need a new class.

As a titan I don't think this is a good idea. They're designed for crowd control and to protect the others as they use their ranged attacks.

How about a super where the titans get a shield and spear the shield can be raised to absorb some damage and the spear can be thrown for ranged attacks and does what the golden gun does damage wise and staggers. The spear comes back after 10 seconds and the super lasts around 12 so you might be able to get two spears off. The melee could be a fire punch that could be upgraded to throw a fireball.
