I find it annoying. I want to kill all the enemies along the way. More chance of drops etc. it's a game based around killing shit. If you don't want to kill shit then why are you even playing?
Im L29, and I did the strikes a lot too, still enjoy killing shit. Don't like people making decisions for me. I just leave now if people do it. Then they can 2 man it and take longer than if you just killed everything as 3.
In all honesty, skipping stuff saves little time anyway. If you are high level. Just another legacy of the 'go go go' era of child gamers that think they are more important than anyone else.

It's called speed running for a reason. It saves you much more time than "a few ticks" (what ever arbitrary number that is), and since they updated tiger play list rushing for end strike rewards is much more productive than grinding all the mobs in a zone. How ever to each their own, play the way you want, and use the forums to find like minded guardians to play with you.
-
It saves barely any time at all at least in groups I have been with. Not sure what level you are but at L29 there isn't any group in any tiger strike that 3 x L28/29's can't kill almost as quickly as run through. That's the point. Just because someone calls it speed running doesn't make it true.

29 sunsinger and 26 havoc titan. Sparrowing past non essential mobs, quickly eliminating locked door mobs, and downing boss is substantially faster than killing everything. By the way i only strike with my clan mates and we're all similarly leveled. But again i don't mean to dissuade you from playing the way you enjoy nor say it's the wrong way to play. Merely shedding light on why players rush. Cheers
-
Ok I get that. As I said, I never found it much quicker at all. Usually if I dont leave, I catch up to runners almost as fast soloing them. But as you say play how you enjoy. Especially if it's with clan mates. I run with friends and with pugs. Experiences do vary.
-
I'd also like to add the your experience is also very likely true since not every one knows what mobs have to be killed. But strike experience differences aside, thanks for being able to hold a civil conversations.
-
Agree with every point you have made. Really don't see how much time you are saving by running straight thru. I'm a lvl 28 Titan and when teamed with like level hunter/warlock mobs fall pretty quick so maybe you save a tick or two but really do not see the point to it. Of course I see this most often when running the one off strike missions which are easy and rarely offer any reward worth mentioning aside from the obligatory rep reward.
-
I often have Phogoth down to 75% health by the time my fire team catches up so by all means leave, it will scale down the enemy difficulty for me to run it even faster haha.
-
Course you do....yawn.
-
^•^ Sorry to rain on your parade haha
-
You aren't raining on anyones parade dude. You must just run with some bad fireteams....
-
Well that would be my luck I guess. Then again, of my raid group, I have gotten probably the best drops, so at least I have the luck there eh?
-
A two man team can still run through and potentially kill the boss more quickly than a three man fire team killing everything along the path from the beginning to the death of boss.
-
What, if, but. Mate one person alone could clear the whole thing quicker than 3 people potentially. All depends on who the 3 and the 1 are. We could hypothesise about it forever. The point is, there is hardly any speed difference between killing a 30 second group of enemies or skipping them. Not enough that all the kids are jumping on here trying to justify it like it's cool.
-
That's where you are misten. Run throughs take 7 to 8 minutes to complete. Killing everything takes about 15 to 20 minutes.
-
Doesn't take me 15-20 minutes, most of the groups I end up with of L28-29's, takes about 10 - 12 minutes. You can't even run through all the groups in the strikes. You are talking complete shit. There is no way skipping 2 or 3 groups takes 5 minutes or more off a strike. With 3 good players you can kill most groups without even stopping moving forward.
-
Just because you're too shitty of a player to accomplish this, doesn't mean every other player is as bad as you. 7 minutes is very doable for Summoning Pits. If you don't believe that, then you are blinded by your own ego and saltiness that you get left behind and catch up, so by all means, get your whiny bitch ass out of my fireteam when we leave you in dust. Scrubs I tell ya.
-
Yeah sure! Wow you are so awesome! Look at ReasonableRam everyone, he can fly past enemies on his Sparrow in a crappy L24 strike! Wish I was cool like you. Then I could take pride in how quick I could finish some easy as pie strike that I am over levelled for. You even raid bro? Did the raid in 1 hour, 15 minutes start to finish. Guess what? We didn't skip anything. See that's impressive. No one cares how fast you can skip through a strike though. If YOU were a good enough player, you wouldn't need to skip enemies, you could kill them just as fast. No strike takes 5 minutes no matter how much you skip you bullshittng prick. The journey and boss alone would take longer than that on most strikes. You are so full of shot my phone is starting to smell. Actually try timing it instead of pulling numbers from your arse.
-
I said 7 minutes because I timed it, not 5 minutes. Also, you would never skip through a raid, only low level strikes. You are just that bad and whiny of a player that you are trying to put words in my mouth and talk about irrelevant stuff. I feel like I'm debating with a 14 year old. Its OK though, because as I look through this post, there are plenty of other people here telling you how much of a scrub you are so I don't have to haha.
-
No mate you actually said 5-7 minutes. So seriously sort your shit out. And we all know you didn't time it, you just pulled that number out of nowhere to sound pro. Never skipped anything in the raid son, we cleared everything in that time. Only normal mode but still. I'm with a group now on hard mode and we have cleared up to a checkpoint on last 2 fights for the glass throne. Enjoy your strikes. Plenty of other skippers here pal, that's all trying to tell me what's what. I play the game how it's meant to be played, nothing to be proud of by doing anything other than that. Have a nice day! :)
-
Enjoy your salty tears my friend.
-
Now you are the one talking shit. I was civil until being accused of lying by this butt hurt salty scrub. Just remember after you quit my fireteam, to go and whine on the forums again instead of sucking it up like an adult. I guess Mommy and Daddy taught you whining and calling people names gets you what you want in life.
-
Sure mate. So you timed your runs right? You did a tiger strike in 5 minutes?
-
With two good players you don't have to stop and kill, a running sweep auto rifle and hand cannon. One take left one take right, guy who is still on his sparrow is still in the room when everyone is dead. I love showing those speeders up.
-
Exactly mate, thankyou. At least there is someone here who knows what I mean. It doesn't save any noticeable amount of time.
-
speed running has been around since before the first metroid prime games, so.... yeah. That thing you said about it being a symtom of the "go,go,go" era is kind of empiricaly wrong. I'm glad you leave when things dont go your way, but you are not entitled to a team that plays the way you want unless you build that team.
