"Use Void Damage to defeat Guardians in Crucible. Death will slow your progress"

Does anyone have any tips for doing this step in Thorn quest line? I just find it ridiculous how hard it is to do this when everyone is comfortable running around in their primaries while I'm forced to use crappy Void Fusion Rifle, or Heavy weapon which I never have ammo for. And I also want to mention that I'm not good at multiplayer so yeah... How are people completing this quest? Or should I just abandon since I'm reading that Thorn is not very good anyways...

  • If you have a guardian with a void subclass it makes it easier I'm a warlock and used my void subclass with a viod fusion rifle and void shotgun.. It was the easiest part of the bounty.. Just find a nice spot close to a control point and camp it lol

  • I did the 500 void in a two hour stint. I did it with defender Titan. Sticky grenade (void) fusion rifle and (void) LMG. Both were rares. Voidwalker warlocks also have an easier time with this bounty. You need to predict the heavy weapon spawns. Play cautious and keep at mid range at all times. Keep distance from the shotgunners. The trick with the fusion rifle is to charge it up preemptively. Watch the radar. And keep a wall at your back. Play control missions. More people and the enemy is more distracted. Note: The quality of your weapons makes no difference.

  • Void shotgun on smaller maps, void sniper on larger... Or Atheon ' s epilogue if you have one.

I'm only decent at PvP and was getting around 70 a match, lower in the last few matches though. Basically... shotgun or fusion rifle, pick which one you're best with and only use that while being a bit more cautious than nornal. I guess you could use a sniper rifle if that's your thing but I suck at them so generally avoid them..

  • Yeah problem is I'm no good in pvp and I only recently bought PS4 so it'll be hard to find friends to help me get this done on Skirmish. I am a Titan btw with Defender and Stiker maxed.

I did it as a hunter no void perks just cloak next to heavy ammo rocket destruction. Found it betar to do it on capture. And this is the easy part Xyor one hell of a bitch.

    • I can not verify if this is true because I have not done the Thorn bounty.......but this is a GREAT tip if it is true...... Get 2 friends....I know that is challenging. Go into Skirmish. Run as a TEAM. Tell them to let you get the killing blow when possible with any kind of void damage you have. That part was obvious but the next part is GENIOUS ( If confirmed ) IF YOU DIE...have your team revive you and it will not take the -2 points off of your score towards the bounty. This will probably help your progress greatly. Plus you would be surprised what minimal team work can do for you in Skirmish. I am bad at PvP but with 2 friends in Skirmish we can do pretty well.

Well my fusion rifle exotic bounty wants me to kill 200 Nightfall enemies :( At least I assume it's just kill 200 as nothing I have killed so far has given more than 1 credit towards it, even majors (yellow health enemies) though I havn't killed any named enemies or bosses with it as I've just been killing enemies in the early areas solo. It's not... hard... but it's going to take aaaages.

      • I used a fusion rifle with void damage as it was the only void damage weapon i had. TOok me a while to get used to it but after a lot of hard work i got through it. The next part of the chain is harder though.

      • It was easy. Did it in 6-7 games. A kill is like 5 points.

      • Well I've heard thorn sucks but at the same time watched some one go beast with it and say it's amazing so that's personal preference as far as how to do it if your not a hunter use a void class your special and grenades do void damage that way you can do void damage while you still have your primary weapon also try and find a better void weapon my personal recommendation is high impact and range those will give the highest damage per shot at the greatest distance also try playing something like skirmish smaller maps with more corners works well with the fusion rifle other than that keep grinding and you'll get there eventually good luck

Well it can be frustrating but I'd recommend to stick to fusion rifles and learn how to use them correctly. If your aiming is correct that's usually one blast kill. Shotgun works well on some maps but I found it unreliable due to network issues (seriously Bungie fix the netcode. It's not even funny). Also class with some kind of void damage works as well. I'm a Warlock so it's a bit easier but still. Just keep playing Crucible and eventually you'll get good. I'm mostly PC fps player and had to learn how to PvP with gamepad. Frustrating it was, yes, but in the end satisfaction of achieving hard goal is worthy it + on top of that I'm now decent with a pad and PvP in Destiny is very satisfying and good. Only this network (comes from BF4 player). This needs to be fixed as it's unacceptable in the long run.

      • I have 2 useless exotic quests because they both involve the crucible. Hey Bungie, guess what, not everyone is a -blam!-ing rock god at PvP.

      • What are you using? Titan? Hunter? Warlock? Titan use defender for void nades, warlock use the void class aswell. I found it easier if I just played my normal game and only used the fusion when I knew it was a guaranteed kill. Save your nade for two or more people. And just run with your auto or scout or whatever you usually use. If you didnt get to the heavy ammo in time try and kill the guy who did.. he will drop it.

      • It took me a good 15 matches. If you're a warlock use voidwalker. I used the void fusion riffle and rocket launcher to get it. The hard part is the final mission to unlock the gun, defeat Xyur.
