"Use Void Damage to defeat Guardians in Crucible. Death will slow your progress"
Does anyone have any tips for doing this step in Thorn quest line? I just find it ridiculous how hard it is to do this when everyone is comfortable running around in their primaries while I'm forced to use crappy Void Fusion Rifle, or Heavy weapon which I never have ammo for. And I also want to mention that I'm not good at multiplayer so yeah...
How are people completing this quest? Or should I just abandon since I'm reading that Thorn is not very good anyways...

Praedyth's Revenge and a void machine gun. Try and hit Shores of Time and the Mars map with the building as much as posdible. Snipe, camp heavy, and prosper. Check my stats. I am horrible at PVP and I got it, you can too.

My load out: Atheons epilogue Swordbreaker Corrective measure Honestly, I got 90% of my kills with swordbreaker. Just don't run large maps (I backed out of every sky shock and bastion game) and play normal sized maps (my favorites were twilight gap, shores of time and blind watch) and just camp corners and go slow. Follow teammates to help have a distraction for enemies and keep at it. Got it done in about 10 games. I thought I would never get it but that shotgun was amazing!

I have the thorn but it wasnt worth the time i put in that stupid bounty cause it is so bad my vanguard legendary handcannon can do much more side to side with this stupid handcannon. Cant wait to get the last word from the RNG nightfall or crucible tho

Play defensive and don't get frustrated when you die, pretend you don't have the bounty on you. You'll start off really slow but you'll get a hang of it later on

Thorn USED to be bad, it's still not the best but is far from bad. Don't forget to nade spam and Nova Bomb if it's on your warlock. Otherwise you are pretty much forced to camp it out with those weapons. If you know the heavy weapon spawns, hang out near them with a machine gun, that will be your saving grace. For me it's easiest to do in Rumble.

3 RepliesA void Fusion rifle is preferable, but a shotgun or auto rifle should do it. Play team games, as there are less people trying to kill you specifically. Hang back behind your teammates and tag people from afar. Forget about winning, just concentrate on your K/D ratio. If you think that taking a certain point in Control looks too dangerous, don't do it. Forget about risking a run for the heavy ammo packs too. Unless you're a Void Warlock, remember that your melee attack and grenades won't help your score. Remember; 2 void kills mean you can safely die 5 times before those points are cancelled out, so relax, take your time, and stop playing the moment you lose your nerve. If you find yourself losing points, it's time to take a break.

Thorn will be buffed next patch so it should improve. I used a fusion rifle or sniper rifle depending on the map. A shotgun may be more your speed if you think fusion rifles suck...

What I did was buy a void shotgun and just use that. I played control, and sat by an objective and just shottied anyone and everyone I could. Took me 2 and a half hours. A tip is, If your Defender Titan or Voidwalker warlock, your melee, grenade, and super kills also count.

I had a void shotgun and sniper rifle. Also helped that I was a voidwalker. The Thorn is actually not a bad weapon when used correctly. Plus it is also getting a buff later on.

I did it in about an hour and a half with a green void fusion rifle. Just don't suck at life and its easy.

I kept sneaking a round with a void shotgun killing people in clash by using my position on their radar as bait. They fall for it quit easily and it makes getting the kills much easier.

its nearly impossible with the vex auto rifle and all the hunters running around with shot guns. my friend deleted the shit.

My friend used a fusion to get there and I did it with a sniper rifle. The big one is that I think assists still count or at least it seemed like it. Either way it took patience and planning, but in the end was not as hard as it sounds. If you position yourself and play defensively you can get through with at least a 1:1 KDR and be good in a couple of hours. At first I struggled with a void sniper because I hate sniping but again it just takes planning and patience to find places off the beaten path to shoot from. As well, dont forget some class skills are void like the defenders punch and grenade. It also helps to make a real effort to get the heavy ammo drops. Good luck, it was at times frustrating, but my friend and I both did it. Neither of us are real pvp machines. We just took it slow and planned it out.

Depending on your class, it could be really easy. Do you have access to void grenades?

Do vault of glass there is a nice legendary auto rifle with void damage, but it's not ideal for pvp.

I ended up using a Void Shotgun for most of it. You just need to maintain 1 kill per 2 deaths (I'm not sure but I think Assists counted so long as you got 2 of them, I could be wrong though).

Voidwalker/Defender (Screwed if Hunter), The Comedian (Void Shotgun with zoom-to-reduce-spread bonus), and a corner of your choosing. You can cheese it by getting two friends and going into Rumble, but...meh. Oh, and if you're lucky enough to have Atheon's Epilogue, it makes it a breeze.

If you have a guardian with a void subclass it makes it easier I'm a warlock and used my void subclass with a viod fusion rifle and void shotgun.. It was the easiest part of the bounty.. Just find a nice spot close to a control point and camp it lol
