Yea they are, loot rates are better by running strikes and skipping trash

I misunderstood the post then. Public areas of a strike? Sure. I was under the impression he was talking about within the strike. Which I have seen alot of folks do.

If it's skippable at all, so within the strikes instanced areas. It really is very commonplace in mMOs, at the moment, the only reason to run strikes instead of patrol missions is the better chance at upgrade mats at the end. Patrols yield better drops for blues and generally give better rep if you do them efficiently
-
And before you say "that's not the fun way to play" I and a lot of others only enjoy playing efficiently, getting the most for the least amount of time spent is really appealing to me and people with time crunches. The problem might lie with the matchmaking and not the behavior of players whom are playing with very legitimate styles of play (unlike freeloaders/sitters)

Lol common place? No it is not, not with mobs who have a potential to drop epic loot. I have played many mmos and have never ever seen mobs skipped with epic tables.

Edited by rylay: 10/4/2014 5:11:31 AMThe chances just aren't very good and if you're planning on grinding mobs, there are still much better places than the strikes that many people only do for the spinny loot at the end, because it's quicker than just killing mobs There's something you're still missing, as far as I can tell the only reason to do strikes (with a grinding mindset) is to get the rewards at the end. The tables for common mobs are the same outside the strike and are (most likely) the same on lvl 8 as they are on the common mobs in a lvl 24 strike so why bother with them?? The more strikes I get done in an hour the more engrams/ascendant mats I get. Everything else is secondary to that so f the trash mobs Also I'm not saying this is the fastest way to get ascendant materials but it's the fastest way in strikes... kinda starting to get to the futility point of destiny though when you're thinking of the fastest way to get ascendant mats but that's a seperately issue Tldr skipping unnecessary encounters is completely legitimate.

Can't confirm or deny, but personally I have had much better luck in strikes then just romping around in patrol. I can honestly say that the tables are different. Either way, there will have to be a middle ground here or everyone is just going to report everyone. Lol
-
That is the difference between you and I, I am not looking for the faster route, granted I have played the strikes to a mind numbing degree. It still don't change the fact that you play your way and me mine. Just don't get all huffy when you feel that you are doing all the work. Skipping parts is legit, i agree, but don't expect everyone to adhere to your style. And most of all, don't think that you're doing all the heavy lifting, when in reality, you didn't have to in the first place.

I wouldn't think to report someone for that but I'm unfamiliar with all of the in game player feedback options, more over, this could all be solved with matchmaking preferences like they had in halo....... a lot of my posts in this forum end like that..

+1 to match making preferences.
