Since when has this been the cool thing to do? About a week ago is when it started getting annoying... I have to deal with at least one guy running ahead and leaving every single enemy alive and well behind him. They dont save any time by doing this, they make it more challenging to clear that part of the map, and besides saving what ammo they have (assuming enemies dont drop any for them) i cant find a good reason for doing this.
Id love to see something to prevent people from doing this or at least add "runner" to the player report. Way too many "unhelpful" players without counting these toolbags that run through the map.

The missions suck so much players run past enemies to get to the strike boss to finish up quickly.
-
It's about doing strikes efficiently and effectively. When you've done them all a billion times who wants to sit there and mow down adds for nothing when you can run to restricted areas and get to it.
-
I absolutely agree.
-
heres a simple answer , report them on what ever network you play on(xboxlive/PSN). The more they are reported on that network the less likely you will be matched with them. It's not 100%. Or bungie could create a separate playlist for solo strikes which would be better.

I was doing the nightfall strike in 11:20 secs by running through the adds. It gives +3 strikes toward the bad juju strike bounty.

Edited by N311V: 10/4/2014 9:56:09 PMIf I'm doing a level 22 strike and I can ride past level 10 enemies on my way to the strike proper (no respawn zone) then I'm definitely going to do it. Not only does it feel like a waste of time killing low level enemies but the lack of challenge makes it boring. Perhaps if the strikes began at the no respawn zone we'd both be happy.
-
Yeah I catch my self doing it and I hate it cause, it's taking away from the gaming kinda like bungie chopping the story.
-
Get to the boss as fast as possibel Thats it.. No messing around with pointless mobs.. Kill what you need leave what you dont

Running through it all actually saves alot of time. It can go from a 20 min strike to a 10 min strike and I'm someone that doesn't have all day to play so I have to play smart so I can get everything I need done in the time I have because
I have a job and a girlfriend
-
I have to grind through 25 strikes for bad juju sorry if I don't wanna kill every dreg.
-
It's called "speedrunning" it was used in halo as a test of dodging skill and to pass annoyances.
-
When I skip ahead I make sure to take out enemies in the areas I skip to so my team can skip through it.
-
We're not given the option to run strikes solo or I would when clan mates or friends aren't available. Speed runs are for getting end drops and reputation points as fast as possible. Most people I encountered prefer this method. You can spend an extra 10 minutes doing something that's been done a hundred times but I've got a 29 Warlock and 27 Hunter to run.
-
Well if you want engrams why dont you just shoot into a cave oh wait you guys are still butt hurt about that. That's why you feel the need to kill everything that you have already killed thousands of times over.....
-
All right soldiers here is the Operation. . Go in and take out such n such leader... kill everyone first so they know your comming! Lol it is not unheard of to bypass non essentials to achieve the final goal.
-
Edited by Darkling: 10/4/2014 9:46:05 AMThere are two sides to this at the droppoint it's common sense to run to the beginning of the strike and don't care about the "outside" Once you are in the strike however you have to work as a team to complete it
-
Cut through the trash... dinklebot opens door... cut through the trash.. kill sub boss... cut through the trash kill boss... personally I do not wanna run the same strike like it was my first time. No body got time for that.

Surprise more whiners on the forums. Believe it or not the "runners" paid for the game as well and have just as much right to play the game they want to play it as you do. I mean really does skipping a few pointless enemies really matter that much? You know some people are doing bounties that require lots of strikes and/or require you not to die during a strike. By bypassing some of the enemies you can get through the strikes faster and reduce the risk of death therefore getting that exotic weapon faster. I mean it's matchmaking. You can't honestly think random people are going to play your way just because you think it's better. If you don't like it then get a fireteam of friends and do them.
-
I do it Wanna know why? Its because..
you gotta go fast
-
its called speed running.... if your not good enough to follow then you should just clear out the enemies as you go. It is not the speed runners fault that you got matched with them. I speed run because it is more challenging thus more fun (Especialy on the winter kell mission). There is nothing wrong with people playing the way they want to.

The exact same thing happened to me last night while doing the summining pit. Dude ran all the way ahead and left all the enemies for myself and teammate to deal with.

Why would you care if others only want to kill the boss - the sole objective of the strike? The goal isn't to kill enemies, cover the whole map, or take in every Vista. You win by killing the boss. And even just from a fun standpoint, why would you not want to bypass the unscaled enemies at the beginning? If I can save two minutes each strike, it adds up.
-
I think it is because the strikes take place on the patrol maps. There are certain areas, especially at the beginning where you just don't need to kill the enemies, there is no point to do it. I've always looked at that first group, before you get to the "no respawn" area, as being part of the patrol map you are on and not really part of the strike. It makes sense from an ammo conservation at that point as well. If you've run a strike more than once (and who hasn't), all you really want to do is get through it, collect any rewards, then get back in for the next one. At this point you aren't going to see anything new or exciting, it's all about efficiency. That's one of the problems with having such limited content.

we got sh!t to do. I cant believe I would have to explain this but when you have a bounty that's says do five strikes without dying you just go get it done. its another game design flaw. people are going to pick the easiest one and run through it.
