Since when has this been the cool thing to do? About a week ago is when it started getting annoying... I have to deal with at least one guy running ahead and leaving every single enemy alive and well behind him. They dont save any time by doing this, they make it more challenging to clear that part of the map, and besides saving what ammo they have (assuming enemies dont drop any for them) i cant find a good reason for doing this.
Id love to see something to prevent people from doing this or at least add "runner" to the player report. Way too many "unhelpful" players without counting these toolbags that run through the map.

Since I have to complete 25 strikes for my bounty and I don't want to sit around killing trash mobs. In, out and on to the next one. Not going to spend an extra 10-20 minutes to get a bunch of garbage gear I don't need.
-
If I get a say, I'd rather kill the trash mobs. If my buds are running through, I'll run through, too...especially if we are doing a play list.
-
Edited by PeenScreeker: 10/6/2014 12:17:32 AMWhen you grind out the 25 strikes for the exotic bounty, the time savings add up. A two minute difference over 25 strikes comes out to around an hour of play time.
-
Umm, because enemies outside of spawning restricted zones infinitely respawn and there's no point to killing them unless you're completing a bounty which has nothing to do with the strike?
-
I would say about 95% of the people who I run strikes with skip the trash mobs. I find it kind of weird when someone is just hanging out trying to kill everything. Get me to the strike and get it done.
-
They dont save any time by doing this
Not true. There are two battles on Valus Tu'arl (might be misspelling that) where you can skip by. On the longest Strike timewise with no reason to be concerned for XP I'll rush to the end for the guaranteed loot potential.
-
It sucks but on some missions I just want to clear and fight the final boss. It sucks but now since we all played the strikes 10+ times I'd rather not have to deal with the enemies.
-
Edited by Azula No Sekai: 10/6/2014 5:20:05 PMI never thought someone would complain about that. I skip everything not crucial to completing the strike. I mean dont people do that in most games? Especially doing speed runs
-
People want fast marks or to finish bounties for exotic weapons. They generally are not doing it for the small chance of loot.
-
I honestly agree with this post. The point if the game is to kill enemies. Why would you skip through the enemies. Seriously. And the whole "pointless enemies" bullshit is just that. bullshit. Like I said, play the game to kill enemies. Why in the hell would you skip all if them.
-
I think I'm one of the runners you talk about. I tend to run past all the lower levels and just go to where the level I actually am starts. I think it's a waste of time to shoot through all those level 12 enemies when we are in a level 24+ mission
-
Didn't realize this was a thing. Honestly tho. I personally try to just go with the flow of the situation. If players are hanging around shooting dregs than I'll hang back too. If the others hop on sparrows and fly off through the low lvl mobs I do that too. It cuts out time but not enough for me to kick up a huge stink about it. And killing everything does drop a few more engrams but it's not like its world changing. I'm kinda Meh about it. It's never ruined my day.
-
Yeah its common. It is all about time vs reward. For some they want the end reward so getting there as fast as possible is imperative to maximum how often then can run a strike. One thing they can do is have the enemies constantly chase you. I don't think they do this in Destiny. I had this once where a player wanted to skip some enemies so we did so and they did not peruse. Reminds me somewhat of WOW where you can run past enemies but they will chase you through the map bringing every other add they cross creating this sort of add pain train.
-
In my opinion, most of the strikes could use a pass increasing the densities of mobs in most of the areas, both phased and non. About the easiest method I could come up with is an adjustment to the match making design. The addition of a quick run option, that would then match you with other players looking to do what you're interested in at the time. Those wanting to kill, and those wanting to just complete. It also could be helpful to the social aspect of the game if a player could choose/create a simple message on their emblem within the roster screen to help display his/her interests.

Edited by Farex: 10/6/2014 4:06:34 PMWhat you described is a common, nearly standart thing in every other mmo when it comes to dungeons / Raids / strikes / etc. After a few times, you know everything and just want to push through it. This "running through everything to make things faster" works pretty well in every other mmo, but mainly because you can coordinate with your teammates via chat. Now as Destiny doesn't have the chat possibility it may be a problem for other players who never played a mmo before in such a hardcore way. Please don't forget that this "shared world shooter" is the first big FPS entrance in the mmo genre.

At the end of a strike(tiger) you get a engram guaranteed instide of messing with RNG
-
Cause they're not playing vault of glass lmao....you don't run thru anything. On a separate note, I find more legendary engrams farming chests after the patch than killing enemies. Rares yes, legendaries not so much.
-
Yeah I agree it's annoying but people know they're going to get at least a blue from finishing the strike so the fast they kill that boss the faster they get another 2 plasteel plating and 14 glimmer from the same goddamned Knight Type 1 boots that have dropped every -blam!-ing time. All I want is a gorram -blam!-ing fusion rifle with void damage, is that too much to ask?!?!
-
Your the toolbag sir just because you want to be ineffective is not my problem in fact your the one falling behind get with the group and learn teamwork

Why kill pointless enemies? Seriously.
-
you gotta calm down there bud it's not like they are skiping the parts you need it's the usless stuff and if you can't kill them by yourself stop playing now and go look at the time you've put in destiny. now rethink all that time as you are still a peice of crap at this game good day whiner.
-
It does save time.
-
I get it and now run through the crowds of non mission mobs. Like special ops... Shoot move communicate and stay focused on the mission target objective. Rinse repeat. And sometimes we stick around to blast for ammo and / or loot. But just communicate w the group
