It's frivolous disposable income. There is no poor take on spending it. If I want to commission someone to make a life sized magical rainbow unicorn Pegasus with it, it's my prerogative. Entertainment products in general are a poor take on spending money. I could use it to buy promising stocks and invest in promising companies to further my personal wealth. Objectively it's all a waste of money. Subjectively I don't give a damn and I'll be playing games until the day they pry my controller from my cold dead hands.

Yeah I respect that. Wanna have a good gaming experience along the way?

Of course. Don't get me wrong, I'm very disappointed with the lack of content in Destiny. I just don't think that I'm owed anything because of that, but rather think in terms of what is best for the game going forward. They need to make money to make the suits upstairs happy, but to do that they also need to appeal to their consumers (you and I). The best way to do that is to absolutely knock our socks off with the DLC whilst selling it at its normal market price. Restores confidence in the IP, ensures the publishers are getting paid, and improves profit margins to help indicate growth to investors. Everyone wins in that scenario, and Destiny gets a strong resurgence to boost sales for the holiday season.
