If I remember correctly, the first expansion was only like 20 bux. They are immersing you the player in the game thru the eyes of your guardian. Your guardian knows nothing, and neither do we. In real life we are role playing as our guardians. It would have been nice to get a little more content with the original release, but I'm still happy with it overall.

  • That's good for you however would you of bought the game knowing it had no storyline, no trading, no real open world, no factions or reason for species. Is this really a game that took 7 years to make? I think not.

  • Given all the info that was presented from the start, yes I would still buy it. I know it's difficult to understand at this point in the games life, but while the story is lacking, it does exist. As we sit on the couch, we are reborn as guardians in destiny's world. Imagine, your guardian has lots of questions, as do we. Listen to the npc's. "This is not the time" , "in time, all will be revealed" I will argue that this only the beginning. We aren't strong enough yet to understand. To me, that is the start if an epic story. You are the guardian on your screen. I don't think trading has a place in this game. Not yet. The looting system has to be perfected first. This game is very vanilla. When it comes to open world, races, species, etc., I believe that these things are place holders for future content, as in perhaps when we are all lvl 50, there will be some significance. Remember a lot of content was cut from release to meet deadlines. Hopefully it will be patched in. I find it hard to believe that they had developers and testers working nonstop on this for 7 years, but it's more believe able that the concept of a game of this scope was being hashed out over a 7 year period. It's all very optimistic, I know, but looking at what we told objectively without reading into anything or expecting 10 years of content with one disc release, I remain hopeful and excited.

  • You have kinda made my point with the cut content, as that is the DLCs that we are all meant to pay extra for hence it being on the disc already. Now you can see that we have been sold a half game and have to pay for the second half which isn't really what we were promised.

  • I totally understand your point. If on disk content has to paid for to unlock, it would definitely be a difficult pill to swallow. I'm basically just counting on destiny to patch the content, rather than making it dlc, and have the dlc strictly be adding new elements to the game in addition to what is currently on disc. I haven't seen any definitive evidence that would prove or disprove my theory, as that's all it is, just a theory. From a business standpoint, it would be a very shady practice to charge someone again for what they already own. Customers would be outraged and the business will die. There are laws regarding unethical business practices, and the penalties are severe, especially when it comes to gouging consumers. I doubt if bungie or activision would even consider attempting to violate this and hope we don't notice.
