Sorry but I can see this as the only way for Bungie to save this game. We have all paid for what most have come to think of as a Beta of what we thought and were promised. We are then meant to sit around and wait for a Dlc which cost about he same as the game itself. That's meant to make people happy? Now I don't care if you are a Ps fan boy or and Xbox gamer (joke), none of us deserve to have to fork out more money for a full game. So due to this I think we should get a free DLC from Bungie with an apology for selling us a Beta not the full game. This free DLC/patch should redo the story, making it worthy of the people that brought us Halo. Proper cut scenes that tell a true story, maybe even a twist in there. The Awoken queen recognising your race and responding to you appropriately, not just calling you "it". None of that "I'll explain later" rubbish, a real story that gets to your soul. Bungie owe it to themselves to grip us with a real first episode, to a game that is meant to be around for 10 years.
If you agree please comment so Bungie/Activison might take notice.
Just to make this clear, I am asking for the story to be fixed. Not multi player maps, guns or anything that shouldn't be in the game we all bought. The story that was cut and we all saw was in the game before the cuts. That can only come as a free DLC or patch, if that's a better word for people. However it has to fix the nonsensical story, that is not what is advertised on the back of the case. Please read the case, "rich cinematic story telling". That is what we thought we had bought, that is what we should have. Hope that makes things clear for some that think anyone that agrees wants some kind of hand out. As we don't, we just want what we paid for. A story driven game, not a watered down version of what was touted.
I do have theory why the story is so bad and nondescript. My theory is that it was written by deej. You know the guy that gives nondescript answers to every question? That's all I can think of as to why the story is so bad, it's deej's fault. As it can't be Bungie can it? They brought us the original Halo and the emotional Halo Reach, remember the end of that? Truly an amazing ending, Bungie did that. They couldn't of written this Destiny tripe. Seriously watch this....

This is more gripping than the whole of destiny. So basically Bungie advertised a roast dinner with all the trimmings and gave us a pot noodle instead.

Deej do you care to comment?
Also this from one of the leads of Bungie

I personally love the part where he talks about Destiny not being a MMO, it's more of story driven.
Edit - changed title as even though I explain what I was asking for, some seem to be confused.

Edited by kj2177: 10/15/2014 4:48:59 AMcan you honestly say that if the DLC was free that people would complain less? when the DLC comes out, people will complain it is not enough content and that it should have been free or that more DLC should be free, or whatever. I am not advocating one position or the other, just having an objective view, I can not imagine that anything will satisfy people at this point. and I have found that people complain more when they get stuff for free. ; )

Edited by CanadianWeeb: 10/15/2014 8:11:29 AMSigned, I love the game and I think it is fantastic, but I was dissapointed. I'm a gamer who plays a game for it's story before anything else, and the game series that made me feel that way, about all video games, was Halo. Bungie, you guys did everything right when it came to Halo and I don't blame you for wanting to move on, but you should've kept all the lessons you learned from creating a revolutionary game series. I loved the Halo games so much because I was pulled into it's story and was completly aww-struck by the world you created, but I didn't feel that way with destiny (atleast not to the extent with Halo - and yes I know these're 2 completly different games). I felt like there was too much information missing to really pull me in completly into this new universe, and just as I was beginning to feel pulled in, it ended without much (if any) explanation (at least to some degree) of what happened. Yes I know there is the Grimmoire and I love the idea of going to it to read and learn more about the story outside of the game if I'm curious about it, but not if it's the only way to get the story. I love destiny and I see exactly how incredible this game can become, and to be honest I can see a HUGE resemblences as to how you started off with destiny like how you started of with Halo:CE (There were a lot of story holes in that game too, for example; why we were facing the covenent, what was reach, what happened to us to get to the point, ect... - regardless it was an incredible game and an extremly enjoyable experience), so I have high expectations for Destiny for that fact alone. I just ask that you continue what your doing Bungie because we know that you guys are listening. I just hope you guys can come up with a response that'll satisfy most of us, because we all know someone will always be mad. Just remember Bungie! You guys can't take over the world without pissing someone off ;) but at the very least try to step where you'll do the least amount of damage. This is coming from a fan who believes you can create something that will surpase anything this company has ever created before - even Halo (and you should know exactly how high of a bar that is).

Signed. I somehow doubt that this will work though. Even if Bungie wanted to, Activision wouldn't allow it, would they? I love the concept of Destiny. The current state it is in is far from ideal, but the game has amazing potential. I want the rich story and deep lore that Bungie talked about.

Signed. What happened in this game? Nothing. There is no incentive to find out more.

Speak for yourself. I have no problem paying for the DLC. I already have paid for it actually. Games awesome.

Signed. I completely agree with this. I'll still pay for the DLCs that are coming but I want the full story I was promised... It was REALLY unsatisfying.
