My sister plays online a lot, so I know how alienating it can be at times. I want normality too, but I think it's still a societal thing. Gaming is still seen as a masculine activity, and until there is a push to make it a norm (akin to the LGBT equality push in recent years), there will be little change. I'm part of the second generation of gaming, but until the third generation matures and the fourth comes into it's own, I don't think there will be any change without an egalitarian movement. In some PC communities - WOW for example- it's there kind of. But as long as the majority of the community remains under 30 and conditioned to think a certain prejudiced way, nothing will change.
