This question was for the Mail Sack, but after 20 minutes organising my thoughts on the subject, the forum froze me irreparably out of the thread.
Having formed the question, I may as well paste it here, I guess.
TL:DR
Grave PR, communication & marketing errors have contributed greatly to negative feeling amongst the average players.
Namely, but certainly not limited to, the long running internal confusion about how to explain the game to people, or even what it was; the (albeit somewhat understandable) reticence to disclose too much of the game prior to launch; a failure to explain the systems and mechanics of the finer points of the game, even after launch.
Will Bungie drop, or mitigate, the abstruse tones of these pages, to speak more directly and fully to non-fanatical supporters from this point forward?
The generally positive reception to the plainly worded Patch & Dev notes serving as the exemplum in order to begin turning the tide of negativity amongst players who don't have the b.net mindset of unswerving loyalty.

I've deleted the full text, because, well, no one reads ~2700 word posts now, do they!
Even my TL:DR is TL:DR!
