I've been a member of Bungie.net for six years.
One day that number will become Seven, but until then let me tell you what I've done in those six years and more:
I patiently waited for the release of Destiny from back when all of Bungie.net went dark. (I also patiently waited through each and every unskippable cutscene...)
I patiently waited for each of my armor upgrades in Halo: Reach.
I patiently waited for the release of each Halo: 3 Map Pack.
I patiently waited for Bungie day every year.
I patiently waited from the day I bought Halo 3 with my pooled birthday money in September until the day I actually got an Xbox 360 on December 25th.
I patiently waited to get the controller from my school friend on a Wednesday afternoon while we took turns playing rounds of Halo 2.
I patiently waited through entire conferences while watching each year's E3 hoping for something new in the world of Halo.
For all of these things I have patiently waited, and I will continue to do so. In the past every wait proved to be worth my time. I lived and breathed Bungie in my spare time because in the end things always got better.
I'm not a Bungie apologist, so don't mistake me for one. There's something awry with this game, but I will patiently wait. I will patiently wait for a real, down to earth explanation of what transpired in the past year and a half. I will patiently wait for the changes to roll out with Destiny.
In my waiting I may change the target of my attention from time to time, but I will wait. I have grown accustomed to waiting.
My only request, and the point of this post, is to ask privately of Bungie this:
Make my wait worth it this time, as you always have.
Six years I've spent with you all, not the most nor the least of any Bungie.net member. Please remember my patience while you decide how to respond to us all. Your newer fans have not waited, and they may not wait like I have waited.
(but seriously ffs let me skip the cutscenes already, I do enough waiting as it is)
