Most of the Destiny community is up in arms over “Bungie” tricking them into buying an unfinished game, and albeit it is unfinished. However, if most of the community had actually read (because reading is SO difficult right?) and understood (this is a “skill” that is lacking in morons) the reddit thread, then I believe that more people would be more willing to empathize with Bungie over the -blam!- of their once beautiful game.
404Architect (the “Bungie employee” who could, in fact, be anyone) stated that, “One side wanted this huge space epic, like an MMO Mass Effect and the other side was not convinced that would sell and wanted to pare things back to more ‘easily accessible’ standards. They were afraid too much story elements and cut scenes would drive players off.” Now…what game producing company do we all know that specializes in the production of senseless, linear, unenlightened first-person shooters? And is this company in any way associated with Destiny? Oh, that’s right: THEY (Activision) FUNDED THE DAMN GAME! Let’s face it; many of the ideas formulated by the developers never make it past the producers because as stated above: the producers fund the game. As a result of this cash flow, Activision—not Bungie—has the final say on most of the content in the game because the producers are more concerned with making money than in making a brilliant story.
404Architect also stated that, “Whenever Joe Staten (as in Joe Staten the Director of Cinematics, and Lead Screenwriter for Destiny) left everything fell apart.” For those of you who fail to see the gravity of this sentence Joe Staten leaving was the catalyst which resulted in everything falling apart. So, it is only logical to assume that Joe Staten was the only thing stopping Activision from altering Destiny, and that he was in the midst of a massive “pissing contest” with the producers. It is also only logical to assume that the reason that Joe Staten left was because that he foresaw no way that Bungie would be released as he originally intended it to be (Hellooo! That much passion just doesn’t wander off to greener pastures) and decided to abandon a project which would only result in damage to his reputation.
With their leader gone the other Bungie staff members were left to gather up the pieces of Destiny and were helpless to prevent Activision from tailoring the game to their formula of “success.” They watched as Activision destroyed their dream game. Just imagine the embarrassment that Bungie felt whenever they were forced by Activision to release a “skeleton-and-bones” game…now add a little hopelessness—and THAT is what Bungie felt like whenever they released Destiny and were powerless to stop it. Just imagine the despair Bungie felt as their dream was reduced to a carcass by the lion pride (Activision) only to be descended upon by the carrion fowl (the Destiny community).
This analysis of the evidence is just as likely (on second thought, it is much more likely) as any of the conspiratorial drivel that muddies the pages of Destiny’s forums given what we all know about Activision, Bungie, and human nature. I do hope that some (if not all) of you begin to look at this situation with a new perspective instead of hopping on the bandwagon (and I do apologize for the platitude) of the feeding frenzy.
Finally, the consumers are not the victim of Bungie’s greed. Bungie is the victim of Activision’s greed; we consumers are only victims by extension. Hopefully, Destiny can be salvaged into the masterpiece which it originally was designed to be in the coming years. However, Bungie cannot do so without your empathy and without your support.
Never ascribe to malice (Bungie conspiring against its community) that which is adequately explained by stupidity (What greater form of stupidity is there than greed?).

People still talking about the fake employee? ROFL

The hard truth is that bungie always screws up their own creations and can NEVER make publisher deadlines. That's why deej calls these claims bs yet doesn't defend bungie. I'll never understand why bungie fans trust, love, defend and follow bungie so blindly. Fact: Halo 2's multiplayer was originally envisioned by bungie to be 32 player, massive, vehicle driven wars (like battlefield). They couldn't pull it off and hacked their own creation THEMSELVES, Microsoft had nothing to do with that decision. And they STILL released it a year later than Microsoft wanted. That's on bungie. Fact: bungie did nothing but let halo fans down following the first halo and it wasn't until 343 took over that halo finally redeemed itself and entered the 21st century of gaming. It was all downhill after halo:ce. Until halo 4, it was the same recycled, community run garbage we had seen for a decade. Slow, glitchy, laggy, oh and by the way - lacking in story. Anyone remember ODST? Microsoft and 343 saved halo and gave it a much needed and long overdue makeover. Bungie nearly ruined their own and best franchise that made them famous. bungie and their sheep-like fans blamed Microsoft for whoring out the franchise and how bungie and halo parted ways. But, the proof is in the pudding. Why did halo rise again to the top of the fps world once it was out of their hands? Why is halo 4 the best halo to date? Now, it's all activision's fault? When they don't even own the IP or the studio like they did with COD or Microsoft did with halo. With bungie, only three things are consistent: they can't make deadlines, they ruin their own creations and visions, and it's ALWAYS someone else's fault. Remember when destiny was supposed to release in 2013? How is this not the same crap bungie has been infamous for in the past decade? Most likely, like what has happened in the past, bungie couldn't pull off their vision, couldn't make deadlines, gut their own game, ruined their own creation and let their own fans down...AGAIN. This is their M.O. 404 only mentions activision when he comments on pressure for bungie to make their deadline. Wow, that sounds familiar. Even if there is an ounce of truth to the bungie supporters' claims, why would bungie allow yet another publisher to "ruin" their art? That would also be THEIR fault. Truth is it's always been bungie's fault and not everyone elses. Their track record speaks for itself. It's not the rest of the world who's crazy, it's just the blind and naive bungie supporters and the mudslinging failures at bungie who are.

Larima: Were the 'higher ups' on the publishing side or the development side? 404Architect: I can't say that with any authority, but there was pressure from Activision to meet our deadline. 404Architect: I won't speak to his motivations, that isn't my place to say. Activision isn't solely at fault for the way Destiny turned out. Many choices were made, not all of them reflective of the original spirit of the game. I guess reading is pretty difficult and garrettsbarretts is a moron who lacks the skill to understand what these words mean.

Dramatic but whats wrong with that? Good job

But that was confirmed fake... DeeJ even confirmed it, and I don't see why he'd want to pull our leg any more than it's been pulled to match that one Kama Sutra technique.
