Exotics
They're WAY too easy to get. This is getting ridiculous. I understand getting them through exotic bounties and the raid is well worth it. You've clearly gone through difficult tasks in order to obtain them. But getting an exotic per week from Xur? That's stupid. It's beyond easy to get the required strange coins before he comes with his weekly goodie bag. Exotics received this way make it simple to gain end game armor when other exotics (ex. Vault/Bounty Exotics) require MUCH more work. Now before everyone jumps on me about how it's hard enough. You have to realise this is an mmo based game. It's MEANT to be hard and time consuming. This needs to be changed, something as simple as increasing the amount of strange coins would be sufficient enough. Getting the highest rarity class item every week is beyond ridiculous. It depreciates their value greatly.
For those that are about to rage me, you clearly do not understand mmo's therefore I will not give your response the time of day. Keep this civil please, I'm only giving input from 9+ years of mmo experience.

1 ReplyIt wouldn't be so bad if he didn't come every week. That's the problem he's here EVERY WEEK he doesn't need to be here every week if he sell exotics that's the issue I have. I got my red death from a legendary engram as far as I'm concerned I earned my red death. I killed the right enemy at the right time and had it decrypted at the right time. I do many strikes and crucible matches as well as campaign missions and get nothing more often than not. I had to buy my legendary gear for the most part so I see my red death as the reward for having kept going. The fact someone can buy and exotic every week and probably get the red death with little to know effort pisses me off. If he came once for like 2 days at the end of the month I think people would be okay with him selling exotics. Hell throw in a small challenge as well as the strange coin price. So each exotic costs coins and has a difficult but not impossible challenge. That's how he should be people who sell exotics should not pop up every weekend it's insulting to players who work hard for there exotics. I'm sure there are players who put more work in to get there exotics than me and to those people I say congratulations but it's a major slap in the face if I can then wait till the end of the week and possibly buy the exotic they got

First, you can only equip 2 at a time, so I have ton's in my vault. Yeah, they're easy to get, but many aren't much better than legendaries either. Some are actually worse than legendaries of the same type, so it's not quite the same deal. If they were all actually that good, then I'd gladly agree with you. The fact is most aren't, I'm thinking of scrapping a few that I have for no other reason then they aren't worth using. Xur is a bit overkill, and the prices are cheap, I can usually buy all of his armor items weekly, or 1 and a weapon, so raising the prices seems reasonable. That said it's not going to stop the mad amount of exotics. I've gotten more than enough via bounties and engrams and I got my gloves from the nightfall. I've seen people get them in PvP and from strikes. And it'd be too many if they actually mattered, but they don't.

And yeah exotic bounties are the way about doing thing if you were to sell something exotic, so that guardians actually have to put forth the work. I currently have an exotic bounty that requires me to do 25 strikes(and that's only part of it).

The only way I see them fixing this is adding a higher rarity and make them super hard to obtain that way hardcore players have a tough goal or they can make you break down exotics to be able to obtain very rare components to craft ultra rare legendaries or something...

I have put over 100 hours into the game and just got my first exotic bounty a few hours ago. Also I've gotten only 23 strange coins all together so maybe it's a little bit based in random luck? :D

I agree. I feel as if there's multiple ways to remedy this: 1. Increase the amount of strange coins. The more coins needed means the harder the grind to get there. 2. Decrease the chances of getting strange coins. I don't like this idea as much, but I do feel they should be removed as a PVP reward if this path is taken. 3. Make Xur come either bi-weekly or once a month. The problem I see with this is that I know one of the bounties requires you to buy something from Xur. 4. Randomize the items. Why just all exotics? I wouldn't mind getting my hands on some nice legendaries or even exchanging my strange coins for some Ascendent Shards. These are just come ideas that I think would help. I hope Bungie notices any of these posts/threads. Thanks for reading, Guardians.

3 RepliesNot sure if I'm repeating what someone else may have said but what about random items every week. Not just exoctics, but maybe materials for upgrading your gear. X amount of strange coins for x material, especially the high end ones. That's just my thought.

7 RepliesActually it seems as if you dont understand this game. Exotics were not meant to make you uber and special and better than everyone else alone. Exotics are just different armor and weapons that have powers beyond legendaries. Not for some bragging rights or to show off and be awesome with. It is not just an mmo game, it is not just a loot based game. It is an open world rpg fps shooter mmo loot game. It has aspects of each but is not meant to be just one or the other completely. They have no value, for there is no trade system and this is why they dont need one because people like think you should be special for having them.

2 RepliesI agree, mmo's should take time to even get legendarys let alone exotics, they need to either bring out a whole new selection of gear and weapons that are better than exotics and are extremely rare loot drops from raids and bosses or decrease everything in the game like strange coins or mote of light, mmo games take months or even a year to even get the highest level and best gear not 3 weeks, too easy and that's why it's boring already because we have everything.

23 RepliesThis is a stupid post. In order for it to be decreasing its value, it would actually have to be WORTH something. Since there is no trading of any kind, it doesn't effect anything. You're just mad that your exotic is not as special as it used to be. As of now there are plenty of people that don't have exotics and strange coins are hard to get because of that stupid random loot system.

10 RepliesJust because it's "MMO based" does not mean it has to follow the same formula. As a college student I don't have time to put hours upon hours into a game. I got school, work, homework, and family to worry about. So I like that I have the opportunity to have an exotic item without having to grind endlessly in hopes of randomly getting one from the slot machine rewards system.

3 RepliesMeh, I'm all good with Xur. It's giving them to people at the end of crucible that bugs me. I really do enjoy the bounty ones though , completed thorn and pocket infinity so far. They should ALL be bounties >.-

4 RepliesI wish I could were all of the exotics I have. not just 1 armor and 1 weapon at a time let me put it all on. I grinded my but off to win them and letting me have 1 on at a time is a slap in the face. so I have to stop mid combat switch to a different weapon mean while im getting my face kicked in by some mob.. and loading time for the weapon syns for getting more ammo I don't mind the 5 mins cool down but when it takes 30 seconds to load the stupid pictures just so I can use it ???? wtf

Casuals have no access to this. I think weekly should lower their coin input to 2 per each level. Maximum of 6. They are not a walk in the park to get them. Not hard but not a walk in the park. They require to play constantly the weekly at minimum level 28 to get 9/12 coins. If we get rid of Xur as you people are trying queue in casuals asking for something to it and if you push this the next thing will be micro transactions like Warframes. No thanks.

5 RepliesTell that to the people who dont want to go into pvp to get the bounties done. I have so far done 2 bounties and enjoyed doing them. The first one for Thorn was an absolute pain to do because I didnt have a void weapon but once I got one I enjoyed it. I now have Bad JuJu bounty and am almost done with the strikes and pvp is next and I cant wait for it
