The reddit link was actually very revealing. Before I bought the game I expected something very epic, really something that will last for a few months at least storywise then another month or two grinding of some sorts Seeing even a glimpse of what the original story could have been and compared to what I played through in the story missions makes me kind of sad..
While I played the story I always felt that a LOT of things are missing I wanted to investigate further, for example find out more about the Rasputin AI, and there were times when jumping from planets made not much sense at all.. I expected content on one planet will be as big as the whole released content all together, which could have been done easily.
I, for one will not buy destiny DLCs will probably wait for another year or more before coming back to see the changes.. Currently this game is not Destiny, it is a short movie that I saw and though I like the picture and the sound, the content was not even close to be satisfying..

CoD story, Battlefield story, GTA story, just about EVERY game out there has a story that lasts HOURS, not weeks or months. Come on. It;s the replayability that keeps players,and this game has it in spades already.

Don't misunderstand that, I know Destiny is not sandbox, however you must admit that given the assets they had they could make much - much more content. Currently after finishing the story, getting 1 exotic armor, 1 exotic weapon, there isn't anything fun in the game to do except pvp. CoD and Battlefield are not really the same direction that I expected Destiny to be going towards.. I expected something closer to Firefall, a more MMO like approach, where there are activities that you can do.. You were right, months of content, though it was not impossible to do, it might have been some kind of an overstatement. I should have said instead of "month of story" something like "a month worth of things I can do without feeling repetition, activities and goals that makes me feel want to play further"
