I don't see how the game could have changed this much in just a year.

In a year, Bungie lost their head writer and their sound director / musical composer, a lot can change in a year. Once you have finished content, it's not that hard if you want to cut, paste, remove, reorder things around. The end result might not be great, but it doable.

You know what I think? I think Microsoft was always on top of Bungie because they needed the halo games to sell their consoles. Activision doesn't give a shit so none of that quality control.

Activision should give some kind of guano, they have a lot of money invested in this little venture. Maybe they miscalculated the audience, who knows?
