Destiny 2 will receive an update tomorrow. Players will be required to log in to Destiny 2 again after installing the update. Please stay tuned to @BungieHelp for updates.
I've only had this game for a week and I've been pretty disappointed with how often servers have gone down and made the game unplayable. However, I an understand that Bungie may be getting more attention than originally anticipated and is having trouble keeping up with demand.
I would appreciate having some sort of update that explains the outage. When did it happen, how long was service down, who did it effect, what caused it, and what's being done to prevent it from happening again.
I think it's only fair that the Bungie is open and honest with the community about the challenges they face. As well I didn't realize that by purchasing this game it didn't mean there would be 100% playable uptime. I think Bungie should set a goal for themselves to maintain a certain uptime percentage. I guess I'm relating it to my work in the web dev industry, and any (reputable) hosting company would do the same for it's customers. I think better (and open) monitoring will keep the staff accountable, improve the platform, make for happy gamers and ultimately yeild a better and more profitable product.
Even a dedicated twitter handle were a dev can chime in a real time with an "X went down, working on it now" would be encouraging.

Note that this sort of service should be hosted in a separate environment. I was going to post this message earlier but the forums were down too...
