One of our two dogs died this morning, and my youngest brother was devastated when he learned about an hour ago, because he loved her dearly and more than any other pet he's ever had so far. Any advice on how I could best comfort him?

How old is he? This may help me think of something better to say. If he is younger, tell him that your dog is in a happy place now and that he'll see it again one day.

Put it on the porch. Trust me on this. Then take a pic and show us.

Make sure he doesn't just find it on the porch. That oughta prevent the internet from exploding for a while. Other then that, just don't rush into a anything. Give him the time to process it and when he, himself says he's ready, you can go look for a puppy or something.

Stay near him a lot,hug him and don't try to get it off his mind yet

Give him a new one. Duh.
