So, information about cut content have been leaked and users on Neogaf have posted this.
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=903125
Apperently a persons game glitched and allowed him to see all the content as locked, including the content we're not "allowed" to see yet. Like the DLC missions, Strikes and Raids.
I quote:
The first DLC will include 4-5 missions, 2 strikes(one on earth, one on Mars), 1 raid(on Moon) and 3 crucible maps.
Second DLC there is less details but I assume again 4-5 missions, 2 strikes, and 1 raid(which takes place in the reef)
Where all of this is on disc but have to be unlocked by buying the Season Pass/DLC.
So, there you have your proof. Bungie have cut content from the game and locked it for us to make us buy their Season Pass.
In my opinion that is a very cheap move.
Opinions/Further discussions?
Please bump this thread as much as you can to spread the truth.
Edit:
Further proof that most of the DLC is already on Disc. (From Neogaf)

Edit3:
To the people defending this.
How are you okay with this kind of stuff? Content being on the disc that you bought but can't use because they will sell it to you again in the Expansion Pass.
This content should/already is in the game but is locked.
Edit4:
People saying we're jumping to conclusions, that these areas are not even close to being finished and all that.
Thing is.
Since the areas are already there(some with enemies) they could have easily have included them in the game.
These areas were already in as far back as the alpha. Which means they had plenty of time to actually finish it all. (If they aren't already finished and Bungie are just waiting to release the rest of it to the people with the expansion pass)
These missions and areas should/could have been in the final game but were most likely cut to be sold later as DLC.
The areas already in the game proves this by showing us areas that are locked where they probably later only will unlock the missions for those areas. As stated in Edit1 "Expansion II is only 9.5 MB" which most likely is just a "key" to unlock the on disc "DLC".
Looking at the lack of content Destiny have right now it could have used this content on release instead.
Edit5:
Seeing that this thread now have about 380 replies(and still going) where the majority are either upset or angry at Bungie for doing this thing, maybe Bungie should address this in an official blog post and update us on how it actually is.
Is this DLC content on disc which needs a bought "key" aka expansion pass or will this later be released for free like the Iron banner and Queen's Wrath events?
Bungie, take a look at your fanbase/community, more than half of them are disappointed in the way you're doing business with Destiny.
Edit6:
A reddit post going over everything that changed with Destiny over the last year:

Same post but on Bungie.net:

It goes through everything that was in the game before release but later on got taken out for DLC or removed completely.

It says 6.9 MB on there. Also a very small download. Most likely a "key".
They promise us "New Story and Cooperative Areas to explore" but we all know those areas aren't actually new lol
Plenty of people have already been in them.
Edit9:
Quote from Neogaf worth reading:

I highly doubt the devs just cut complete shit out to sell later.
And that's probably what they want you to think. You'd be surprised what kind of crap they'd spin. Cutting content out of a game and then randomly blasting it into the market in pieces as DLC is profitable, so they'll do it. It's easy for them.
We have no evidence to suggest they aren't doing this. I'm much more inclined to say this is exactly what they're doing based on what we're seeing.
Thank god I didn't buy into this game. Pulled out last year when i realised what they were saying and what they were showing just didn't match. The $500m gave me a good laugh though. What a waste.
But hats down to Activision, it all worked perfectly. Expect other companies to follow this trend. The future is bright!
wazzanut wrote a reply worth reading:
Its like paying to get into Disneyland and then being told you have to pay extra to ride the best rides. People who dont complain about this place less value in money and self respect. I like the idea of releasing content over time to help keep things fresh but theres hardly a main body to this game, it feels like an empty introduction to an empty world. Its like halo leftovers and its starting to smell funny... Repeating missions over and over should be proof enough to the lack of content, its been a while since i felt a little screwed over by a game.
Edit11:
Another area have been found, now by Nowise10: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xtf3NlYhB_U
As you can see it is everything is done in this one as well. All Bungie have to do is release the mission files and that's the DLC for ya.
Note that Nowise10 states that this is the 2015 DLC mission.
I mean, a 2015 DLC that already exist in the game. That is pure cheapness.
Edit12:
So, the area Nowise10 found a way into have been in the game for quite some time.
This is a screenshot from a trailer released on E3 this year in June.
http://i.imgur.com/4zFs3HH.png
Would you look at that?
http://youtu.be/hRRKtkuOeig?t=1m32s
So this area have been in there since atleast E3...
Edit13:
Another finished looking DLC area on disc have been found:
http://teambeyond.net/destiny-dlc-area-uncovered-mars/
http://youtu.be/fY_KKYQG22c
Now a strike in the Black Garden area.
As you can see it is a big area where you can't go because of this big energy wall, but with a sparrow you can go through it and enter the DLC area.
Edit14:
Another DLC area found by Corbman.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AgoPfuphQvw
This is the Traitor's Ketch mission in the 2015 DLC.
Is you can see, everything is working as it should, it just needs enemies.
Edit15:
Once again, a new DLC area found by Corbman.
http://youtu.be/BtFey3eEzfk
This is the area for the raid on the moon.
Confirming that this also is on disc and only needs enemies to be added.
I know no one cares anymore so I will probably stop updating this now. Since, I don't really care anymore myself.
I've given up on Destiny and will move on to better games.

Please tell me what games give you free additional content every game that isn't free to play makes you pay for DLC's etc... Get a life please if you don't like the game go trade it in no one is forcing you to play it.
-
Haha are you seriously saying that's cutting content? The gate behind the bounty guy was closed before last week, yet it's opened now. How do you know some of these locked doors aren't just free content on a timed schedule? You people jump to conclusions so quickly. You take the first bit of information you get as gospel and spout off nonsense without truly realizing you're wrong the entire time. And even if those areas are for the dlc so what? What you paid for is the core of the game, what is accessible now, that's what you paid for. Why would it be so ludicrous for us to pay for extra content that cost more money to make. It's common sense! You entitle idiots think that just because you gave them you're money that you deserve free content all the time. News flash, designing content isn't free.
-
I have already gotten more than $60 worth from the basic game. I would be willing to pay for more. I cannot blame a company for trying to maximize their profits. Economics & all that, y'know?
-
Edited by Ketchi: 9/29/2014 1:47:19 AMWhere is the proof that these missions, strikes, and raids are exclusively DLC? It is very possible that it's just locked content until it is unlocked, just like the VoG and Iron Banner.

To save hard drive space? I've spent the past week laughing at all the complaining but that's what American gamers do. The games to hard nerf it. People found a farming spot and I'm jealous, fix it. How many of you have tried creating a game? Probably none. These men and women worked countless hours on this game. Some probably pulled several over nighters and for what? For ALL of you to complain about how it isn't YOUR vision of the game. If you want the game a certain way then rewrite the code. Hijack the models and code it yourself. Otherwise. Stfu and play the game they worked so hard to give you. There's so much more to worry or complain about than someone "hiding" content or "cutting" it. American gamers are the worst. That's a little hard to say seeing as how I'm an American myself. So tired of crying children though. See you in game.
-
I wasn't aware that having something in a user interface meant that the entire content was present on disc
-
Edited by P00K: 9/29/2014 12:42:22 AMThis is really business as usual for an MMO. There are locked off unfinished areas included in the game world all the time... they get opened up for events, or they're just not finished yet and come as part of a later content drop or expansion.
-
You're an idiot.
-
That doesn't prove anything. All it proves is that they were working on DLC content before the game was released, which is common practice, and that they included some of the data for release version. I think you're jumping the gun here.
-
There is no " proof " that the content is on the disc. The only evidence of anything is that the positions on the map have already been determined ( which makes sense ), and markers were put in place to secure their position. One video shows " reef raid " as the title for the raid on the reef. I'm sure Bungie has a far more creative name for it than that, but that shows that it was a placeholder icon on the map. Makes one part of the final job easier.
-
Aw man, I can't wait to get my team together for "REEF RAID*. I hear we'll get to *REEF_RAID_DESCRIPTION*. Seriously, how much of the stuff in the video is actually "on-disk?" Yes, people have glitched their way into King's Watch and the Seraphim Vault. But what about the areas for Crota's End, or any of the Strikes? Or any of the non-Earth content for that matter? Do we have any evidence at all that this content is 100% done and just waiting for Bungie to flip the switch? Personally, I'm guessing it's all just placeholders. I'll wait for videos of people breaking into some dark corner of the Hellmouth or Black Garden to pass judgement.
-
Content on a disk isn't any indication that something was "cut" from the game. Expansions/DLC is prepped far in advance of it's actual release, and often data will be made for it and place on the disk, so the base is on there. This isn't anything strange and is common in game development. I guess everyone see's something as "If everything that's been worked on up to the date of release is not included, then the data has been cut. Even if said data is not finished/prepared."
-
Just because there are placeholders for future content doesn't mean that content is already on the disc. You're an idiot and a warmonger
-
Seems like the majority of the Bungie community are just a bunch of self entitled cry babies that have hopped on the Destiny controversy bandwagon.
-
Apperently a persons game glitched and allowed him to see all the content as locked, including the content we're not "allowed" to see yet. Like the DLC missions, Strikes and Raids.
Well no, they saw the menu options for it. Perfact examle, if I saw a photo of you dressed, It wouldn't be the same as seeing you naked in person. Those 3 locations are indeed in the game, did you bother to notice all 3 had essentially only one room that you can run around? I know companies have sealed off content on disc to sell before, I'm not trying to negate your point that its a foul practice, but how is it that in all the data mining that has been done on the game so far no dlc content has been found other than some headers and icons? You just don't know what's on disc so your claim is speculation at best, not proof, couple icons on a screen are not proof, before the game was even released we were told the game would have expansions, I think a company would have a little foresight to allow dlc options on disc so you only have to download a portion of it rather than all of it when it hits. I'm speculating too, I don't know, what bothers me is when people KNOW WITH CERTAINTY, shit that is entirely based on speculation, because for a thread titled "Proof that Bungie cut content" you've certainly done nothing but blow smoke out your ass and post a couple videos of people glitching into a couple unfinished rooms.
-
Edited by Luckdog26: 9/30/2014 5:23:39 AMYou know, finding some icons on a map from a bug is not indicative of the content actually being there on the disc at all. Also don't forget that much of the data in this game is pulled in from the Destiny servers, so there is a chance that some of this content is sitting on servers being tested by Bungie, and it was somehow leaked via the bug. You basically ARE jumping to conclusions. You guys are looking for more reasons to hate Bungie and drag their name through the mud, so you see reasons in everything you look at. Just relax and play some games. EDIT: Oh and talking about the 'size' of the Season Pass file is really stupid. If you guys have not realized anything yet, but Destiny does NOT download it's data from the PSN Store, or Xbox Store. It downloads straight from the Bungie servers. In the Beta, the game was listed as being like 100mb in the PSN Store, but that was just the boot screen and installer, once you booted up the game, it then proceeded to download the actual 20GB of data for the actual Beta game. They have done the same thing for everything else since then. Every single update is delivered via the Bungie servers, not from the PSN or Xbox Live servers like most gamers are (this is why you won't see Destiny updates in your download queue). So of course they are going to do the same thing for the DLC. The <10mb file is the Season Pass which then enables your system to make a request to the Bungie servers to download the data for the DLC. If they were not doing it this way, if the DLC and update files were uploaded to the PSN/Xbox servers like every other game, then YES, the file size in the Store would be indicative of the total size of the DLC. But that is not how it works with Destiny. You can say I'm blindly defending Bungie, but I am not, I am using factual evidence to provide a logical answer. Something that you guys are not doing, you are making wild assumptions based on something you have no idea about, like assuming seeing an icon on a map means that the entire level is present on the disc. People are blindly hating Bungie because they are disappointed in the game. Get over it.
-
If there's one thing the OP has taught me. It's that human stupidity knows no bounds. Enjoy the tin foil hats.
-
I don't know rather to believe that Bungie did something (wouldn't be far fetched) or that people are making a lot of assumptions and are pretty gullible.
-
This is ridiculous. The expansion content is in production right now and all of it is likely in varying states of completion. What is clear is Bungie has a very clear production plan and corresponding schedule for future content. Which is not only the responsible thing to do, but is likely necessary for their production. If they didn't do extensive planning and pre-production, it's likely things would take far longer to get done. It's worth noting that many larger game studios and large game productions work this way. There is no evidence that the content is done or "on the disc". If it was it would of been included in the final game, or up for sale as DLC right now. Theories about Bungie and Activision withholding finished content is dripping with paranoia. Either way, almost none of us are familiar or experts in game production, or are familiar with Bungie's iteration driven design philosophy, so it's patently ridiculous for anyone to claim Bungie is just sitting on all kinds of new strikes, raids, missions and maps they're happy with and feel ready to ship. Obviously we have every reason to believe the opposite.
-
Yes, content was cut. There's a great deal of evidence, starting with the incoherence of the story, multiple promises that aren't yet true, powerful enemies who exist only to guard closed doors, and people being able to glitch themselves into playable environments that aren't accessible by regular means. The larger question is, what does that mean to you? Only you can answer it. Personally, I think it was a really bad decision. I would be clamoring to give Bungie more of my money if Destiny was a complete product. As it is, I'm wary. I'd rather forgo the discount of the early purchase to find out exactly what it is that I'd be buying.
-
NEWS FLASH: Destiny isn't the only game with locked content.
-
nobody cares, get over it seriously, just because you see what is there doesn't mean they're adding more stuff
-
Edited by ZeLkory: 9/29/2014 12:23:35 AMWow...expansion is on the disk.... No seriously grow up you bought a 60$ game that most of us already have over 60 hours logged in, the game costed you 1$ per -blam!-ing hour. That is the cheapest entertainment you will ever get, reading a book is probably more expansive. So grow up, another 20$ for maybe another 20 hours, why not? Nothing forces you if you don't like the game or at least enjoy it even with the obvious flaws. Please go play a free to play and spend more money for no reason at all. I am pretty sure that everyone whining about this has probably spent over 100$ on World of Tanks or Warframe, maybe even Farmville :P Stop -blam!-ing whining and go make you own game if you think you can do better.
-
Shadow of Mordor is going to eat this game's lunch, I'm afraid. It looks really good and has a full story.
-
Guys, can I just point out that it seems WAY more likely that this was a decision made by Activision. You know, the guys who PUBLISHED the damn game! This kind of bullshit is almost like standard operating procedure for these douchebags. A lot of people think that the publisher has little to no say in the development of the game, but that couldn't be further from the truth. As the publisher is the one that funds the development of the game, they have quite a bit of say in what does and does not go into the game. So stop bashing on Bungie and start prying at Activision for answers. Granted, they'll probably give you a load of bullshit, but it's better than bitching at people who couldn't do jack shit about it.
-
Edited by MaxJ: 9/29/2014 5:54:20 AMSomeone found placeholder names for future DLC? Great proof. Oh wait, someone glitched into an area and there were enemies? None of this area is mentioned in the mission descriptions. And "Reef Raid: No description" is 100% something that's already done. So the expansions are 9mb on the market? Most likely since that is what unlocks the ability to actually download the expansion ingame just like the last updates.
