So, information about cut content have been leaked and users on Neogaf have posted this.
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=903125
Apperently a persons game glitched and allowed him to see all the content as locked, including the content we're not "allowed" to see yet. Like the DLC missions, Strikes and Raids.
I quote:
The first DLC will include 4-5 missions, 2 strikes(one on earth, one on Mars), 1 raid(on Moon) and 3 crucible maps.
Second DLC there is less details but I assume again 4-5 missions, 2 strikes, and 1 raid(which takes place in the reef)
Where all of this is on disc but have to be unlocked by buying the Season Pass/DLC.
So, there you have your proof. Bungie have cut content from the game and locked it for us to make us buy their Season Pass.
In my opinion that is a very cheap move.
Opinions/Further discussions?
Please bump this thread as much as you can to spread the truth.
Edit:
Further proof that most of the DLC is already on Disc. (From Neogaf)

Edit3:
To the people defending this.
How are you okay with this kind of stuff? Content being on the disc that you bought but can't use because they will sell it to you again in the Expansion Pass.
This content should/already is in the game but is locked.
Edit4:
People saying we're jumping to conclusions, that these areas are not even close to being finished and all that.
Thing is.
Since the areas are already there(some with enemies) they could have easily have included them in the game.
These areas were already in as far back as the alpha. Which means they had plenty of time to actually finish it all. (If they aren't already finished and Bungie are just waiting to release the rest of it to the people with the expansion pass)
These missions and areas should/could have been in the final game but were most likely cut to be sold later as DLC.
The areas already in the game proves this by showing us areas that are locked where they probably later only will unlock the missions for those areas. As stated in Edit1 "Expansion II is only 9.5 MB" which most likely is just a "key" to unlock the on disc "DLC".
Looking at the lack of content Destiny have right now it could have used this content on release instead.
Edit5:
Seeing that this thread now have about 380 replies(and still going) where the majority are either upset or angry at Bungie for doing this thing, maybe Bungie should address this in an official blog post and update us on how it actually is.
Is this DLC content on disc which needs a bought "key" aka expansion pass or will this later be released for free like the Iron banner and Queen's Wrath events?
Bungie, take a look at your fanbase/community, more than half of them are disappointed in the way you're doing business with Destiny.
Edit6:
A reddit post going over everything that changed with Destiny over the last year:

Same post but on Bungie.net:

It goes through everything that was in the game before release but later on got taken out for DLC or removed completely.

It says 6.9 MB on there. Also a very small download. Most likely a "key".
They promise us "New Story and Cooperative Areas to explore" but we all know those areas aren't actually new lol
Plenty of people have already been in them.
Edit9:
Quote from Neogaf worth reading:

I highly doubt the devs just cut complete shit out to sell later.
And that's probably what they want you to think. You'd be surprised what kind of crap they'd spin. Cutting content out of a game and then randomly blasting it into the market in pieces as DLC is profitable, so they'll do it. It's easy for them.
We have no evidence to suggest they aren't doing this. I'm much more inclined to say this is exactly what they're doing based on what we're seeing.
Thank god I didn't buy into this game. Pulled out last year when i realised what they were saying and what they were showing just didn't match. The $500m gave me a good laugh though. What a waste.
But hats down to Activision, it all worked perfectly. Expect other companies to follow this trend. The future is bright!
wazzanut wrote a reply worth reading:
Its like paying to get into Disneyland and then being told you have to pay extra to ride the best rides. People who dont complain about this place less value in money and self respect. I like the idea of releasing content over time to help keep things fresh but theres hardly a main body to this game, it feels like an empty introduction to an empty world. Its like halo leftovers and its starting to smell funny... Repeating missions over and over should be proof enough to the lack of content, its been a while since i felt a little screwed over by a game.
Edit11:
Another area have been found, now by Nowise10: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xtf3NlYhB_U
As you can see it is everything is done in this one as well. All Bungie have to do is release the mission files and that's the DLC for ya.
Note that Nowise10 states that this is the 2015 DLC mission.
I mean, a 2015 DLC that already exist in the game. That is pure cheapness.
Edit12:
So, the area Nowise10 found a way into have been in the game for quite some time.
This is a screenshot from a trailer released on E3 this year in June.
http://i.imgur.com/4zFs3HH.png
Would you look at that?
http://youtu.be/hRRKtkuOeig?t=1m32s
So this area have been in there since atleast E3...
Edit13:
Another finished looking DLC area on disc have been found:
http://teambeyond.net/destiny-dlc-area-uncovered-mars/
http://youtu.be/fY_KKYQG22c
Now a strike in the Black Garden area.
As you can see it is a big area where you can't go because of this big energy wall, but with a sparrow you can go through it and enter the DLC area.
Edit14:
Another DLC area found by Corbman.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AgoPfuphQvw
This is the Traitor's Ketch mission in the 2015 DLC.
Is you can see, everything is working as it should, it just needs enemies.
Edit15:
Once again, a new DLC area found by Corbman.
http://youtu.be/BtFey3eEzfk
This is the area for the raid on the moon.
Confirming that this also is on disc and only needs enemies to be added.
I know no one cares anymore so I will probably stop updating this now. Since, I don't really care anymore myself.
I've given up on Destiny and will move on to better games.

Bungie now most hated devs? Quite possibly. What the -blam!- happened Bungie? This is gross.
-
Does it really make a difference? I'm still looking forward to playing it, they spent a ton of time and money into making the game, it's huge, paying for more makes sense.. Don't think of it like buying a car with missing parts, think of it like buying an awesome house you can't afford so you pay for it in small parts instead of one big chunk...
-
On-disc DLC is never acceptable. If the content is ready at launch, give it to us at launch. You can't make us pay more on top of the $60 that we've already paid, just to "open the doors."
-
We already knew there was craploads of cut content. However, it wasn't Bungie, it was ACTIVISION. Remember, they tend to be retards.
-
Edited by Crimson Thomas: 9/29/2014 12:39:48 AMLinks pointing to all of the proof are being taken down left and right, which only proves us correct and renders the evidence all the more damning. Bungie and Activision must be in a complete panic state right now. You have destroyed a decade of fandom from me, Bungie. EDIT: Now apparently Bungie is banning everyone who found their way into King's Watch.Banning people for accessing content that is on the disc. What Bungie's is really doing here is banning people for exposing what they've done. You're too late, Bungie-Activision. We all know. Major gaming press knows. Wallow in your shame.
-
Activision's fault. Nothing more, nothing less. They want their $$$ for dlc.
-
It's funny how none of you know how DLCs work. You honestly think that they don't start working on the DLCs until after the game is done? Jeez
-
Destiny is just a $60 beta
-
-
Not relevant wether or not it was cut from the game or stored away for DLC release. What matters is that they will give us as little as we will settle for and then charge us $35 bucks for the next two DLCs - Anyone Say RIP OFF? Not to mention so much of this game is just running over the same crap over and over. Gets to be I don't care how pretty it is when there it is ALL OLD SHIT. Furthermore - If that shit is all the 35$ gets me I will keep my money. Furthermore I have been thinking about there 'Evaluating Gardians' Indicator. Pretty clear to me that we are so separated into groups and there are so few people pvping on our node (or whatever) that they cannot passibly be matching us up with similarly skilled PVPers. 'Evaluating Gardians' is just another facet of the 'Your not really on Destiny Servers atm but we'll see if we can find a spot for you' system.
-
So much content already accesible and sealed away behind a paywall to be inside of an "expansion". I've been to most of those places already in the game, and am definitely not giving Bungie any more of my money just because of how idiotic this is. Thank you Bungie for ruining the faith that a lot of your fans had in you.
-
Edited by GeneralSmoke: 9/29/2014 3:25:10 AMNo new actual areas to explore (planets, moons)? Okay I see how it is, I see how it is...
-
Content on a disk isn't any indication that something was "cut" from the game. Expansions/DLC is prepped far in advance of it's actual release, and often data will be made for it and place on the disk, so the base is on there. This isn't anything strange and is common in game development. I guess everyone see's something as "If everything that's been worked on up to the date of release is not included, then the data has been cut. Even if said data is not finished/prepared."
-
I always assumed that to be true, but I hope there is more to each one then just that. Not just more guns, armor, shaders, ghost skins, or other items, but more actual playable content.
-
I will not be buying the sequel if this is what we can expect from further installments.
-
Edited by Crimson Thomas: 9/29/2014 3:08:19 AMI also find it funny that one of the chief complaints about Destiny is how there is so little, and it's because Bungie is trying to pull this. How simultaneously laughable and galling.
-
They didn't just cut content, but changed the story all together. There was reason for the entire year of delays for Destiny. They had to rework the entire story and re write it through Grimoire cards that didn't even exist about 8 months ago. This thread on Reddit helps us understand what happened to the story of Destiny. It was definitely gutted and an all together different story before Joseph Staten left and Marty O'Donnell was fired from Bungie. Not sure if Antivision is to blame, but something happened, and it wasn't good. Now as the consumer, we have to suffer. I may have a tinfoil hat on my head, but I'm extremely disappointed in Bungie. Here is the link. http://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/2hqmkb/how_destinys_content_completely_changed_over_the/
-
thank god i only bought the game, when i beat the story mode i knew some shit was missing. i will never buy the DLC.
-
This is ALREADY in the game..... so pretty much AngryJoe was right.. they intentionally restricted content from us to put it into DLC packages. yep this is corporate BS.
-
Edited by Starseid: 9/29/2014 3:03:49 AMI blame Activision, not Bungie. We all knew that going with Activision would result money schemes and blocked content. What probably happened was that all this content was originally in the game but then was divided up by order of Activision to spread out the game's life. Marty being fired was probably Activision to. There is no way Bungie would chop off their own head like that. They have been working on this since ODST as evidence in ODST with the Destiny Awaits posters. Almost 8 years in progress. There is no reason they had to cut content due to time restraints. Activision are the ones at fault.
-
This is shocking. If this is in the game without downloading DLC why is it locked.
-
I've been supporting Bungie through all the complaining and stuff and am loving this game. However, I can't help but feel disappointed by disc locked content to this extent. If that's all that's added by the DLC I will not buy it. I hope there will be more to the expansions than this. I mean I can't even participate in raids cause I have no friends to play it so paying for 4-5 missions and a raid is not worth it. I was hoping for new planets and locales. I really hope this is just the stuff added before DLC or stuff added that takes place in these locales.
-
I posted a week or two b4 launch, when the DLC was listed in the Xbox One store to ask if the size of the 2 files were placeholder #'s or actual size. I don't remember the exact size, but it's something absurdly small. Only a couple gigs. And I literally mean a couple. This would also add to the evidence. But in all honesty, I would lay the blame MORE at Activisions feet than Bungie's. Not defending, just trying to be honest
-
Don't blame Bungie. This is probably Activision's doing.
-
I dont know why people are shocked by this. Even fanboys' beloved bungie want to make a buck. If you believe the whole "we do it for our fans", then you are naive and immature.
-
All they'll say is that this is an easter egg.
