So, information about cut content have been leaked and users on Neogaf have posted this.
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=903125
Apperently a persons game glitched and allowed him to see all the content as locked, including the content we're not "allowed" to see yet. Like the DLC missions, Strikes and Raids.
I quote:
The first DLC will include 4-5 missions, 2 strikes(one on earth, one on Mars), 1 raid(on Moon) and 3 crucible maps.
Second DLC there is less details but I assume again 4-5 missions, 2 strikes, and 1 raid(which takes place in the reef)
Where all of this is on disc but have to be unlocked by buying the Season Pass/DLC.
So, there you have your proof. Bungie have cut content from the game and locked it for us to make us buy their Season Pass.
In my opinion that is a very cheap move.
Opinions/Further discussions?
Please bump this thread as much as you can to spread the truth.
Edit:
Further proof that most of the DLC is already on Disc. (From Neogaf)

Edit3:
To the people defending this.
How are you okay with this kind of stuff? Content being on the disc that you bought but can't use because they will sell it to you again in the Expansion Pass.
This content should/already is in the game but is locked.
Edit4:
People saying we're jumping to conclusions, that these areas are not even close to being finished and all that.
Thing is.
Since the areas are already there(some with enemies) they could have easily have included them in the game.
These areas were already in as far back as the alpha. Which means they had plenty of time to actually finish it all. (If they aren't already finished and Bungie are just waiting to release the rest of it to the people with the expansion pass)
These missions and areas should/could have been in the final game but were most likely cut to be sold later as DLC.
The areas already in the game proves this by showing us areas that are locked where they probably later only will unlock the missions for those areas. As stated in Edit1 "Expansion II is only 9.5 MB" which most likely is just a "key" to unlock the on disc "DLC".
Looking at the lack of content Destiny have right now it could have used this content on release instead.
Edit5:
Seeing that this thread now have about 380 replies(and still going) where the majority are either upset or angry at Bungie for doing this thing, maybe Bungie should address this in an official blog post and update us on how it actually is.
Is this DLC content on disc which needs a bought "key" aka expansion pass or will this later be released for free like the Iron banner and Queen's Wrath events?
Bungie, take a look at your fanbase/community, more than half of them are disappointed in the way you're doing business with Destiny.
Edit6:
A reddit post going over everything that changed with Destiny over the last year:

Same post but on Bungie.net:

It goes through everything that was in the game before release but later on got taken out for DLC or removed completely.

It says 6.9 MB on there. Also a very small download. Most likely a "key".
They promise us "New Story and Cooperative Areas to explore" but we all know those areas aren't actually new lol
Plenty of people have already been in them.
Edit9:
Quote from Neogaf worth reading:

I highly doubt the devs just cut complete shit out to sell later.
And that's probably what they want you to think. You'd be surprised what kind of crap they'd spin. Cutting content out of a game and then randomly blasting it into the market in pieces as DLC is profitable, so they'll do it. It's easy for them.
We have no evidence to suggest they aren't doing this. I'm much more inclined to say this is exactly what they're doing based on what we're seeing.
Thank god I didn't buy into this game. Pulled out last year when i realised what they were saying and what they were showing just didn't match. The $500m gave me a good laugh though. What a waste.
But hats down to Activision, it all worked perfectly. Expect other companies to follow this trend. The future is bright!
wazzanut wrote a reply worth reading:
Its like paying to get into Disneyland and then being told you have to pay extra to ride the best rides. People who dont complain about this place less value in money and self respect. I like the idea of releasing content over time to help keep things fresh but theres hardly a main body to this game, it feels like an empty introduction to an empty world. Its like halo leftovers and its starting to smell funny... Repeating missions over and over should be proof enough to the lack of content, its been a while since i felt a little screwed over by a game.
Edit11:
Another area have been found, now by Nowise10: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xtf3NlYhB_U
As you can see it is everything is done in this one as well. All Bungie have to do is release the mission files and that's the DLC for ya.
Note that Nowise10 states that this is the 2015 DLC mission.
I mean, a 2015 DLC that already exist in the game. That is pure cheapness.
Edit12:
So, the area Nowise10 found a way into have been in the game for quite some time.
This is a screenshot from a trailer released on E3 this year in June.
http://i.imgur.com/4zFs3HH.png
Would you look at that?
http://youtu.be/hRRKtkuOeig?t=1m32s
So this area have been in there since atleast E3...
Edit13:
Another finished looking DLC area on disc have been found:
http://teambeyond.net/destiny-dlc-area-uncovered-mars/
http://youtu.be/fY_KKYQG22c
Now a strike in the Black Garden area.
As you can see it is a big area where you can't go because of this big energy wall, but with a sparrow you can go through it and enter the DLC area.
Edit14:
Another DLC area found by Corbman.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AgoPfuphQvw
This is the Traitor's Ketch mission in the 2015 DLC.
Is you can see, everything is working as it should, it just needs enemies.
Edit15:
Once again, a new DLC area found by Corbman.
http://youtu.be/BtFey3eEzfk
This is the area for the raid on the moon.
Confirming that this also is on disc and only needs enemies to be added.
I know no one cares anymore so I will probably stop updating this now. Since, I don't really care anymore myself.
I've given up on Destiny and will move on to better games.

We will see on download day. Yes some developers lock content but many put the information on the disc which is why sometimes things are leaked. Information =\= content necessarily locked. It's to make the download easier for when it becomes available. All the same, this still won't change people's minds.
-
Edited by synystr huntr: 9/29/2014 9:17:05 AMI personally thought everyone knew that they cut shit out because that shit story and 4 planets only recording 7.2 gigs each does not add up to 40gigs
-
95% game creators doing the same. Almost all DLC in any game are made and ready in a release day but unlock later.
-
I am not going to pay for this bullshit.
-
I can't decide how I feel about this, but since it appears the content was completed work at the time of release, I think it Is only right that it should have been included. If they are low level missions then even more cause for concern. I'm Disappointed there isn't another planet too :/ the crucible doesn't have anywhere near the longevity of other games MP either. And with the Master Chief Collection coming out before the DLC I reckon it's make or break for their Xbox fans. I want to be wrong because destiny is tonnes of fun!
-
Hey wanna know why destiny is not as amazing as it should be cause activision wanted to cut the story up and the lead writer didnt agree and left bungie so they scrap up some bs story a year before the game came out, I wouldn't mind if they scrapped this story and take 6 months redoing it the story the writer came up with was just pure amazing, look it up the story wouldv'e been like oh the traveler is actually the darkness and the fallen are trying to help and a group of guardians kidnap in the 2nd mission and tells you this stuff the leader was the awoken brother of the queen and his name was "the crow "
-
Yay more of the same old boring planets I've seen over and over! Can't wait lol
-
Is anyone else wondering if the people that are arguing are actually bungie or activision employees, its starting to feel like "the lady doth protest to much"... If your trying to get something changed for the better why would there be this much resistance? it feels like some sort of PR campaign.
-
Its like eating chocolate pie then it turns out to be horse sh*t
-
-
Not saying they didn't cut content but they could have added in those links to the locations in the last patch to make the expansions easier. Drip feeding content into the game in small patches rather than one huge one with expand released. No way to prove either way.
-
So it looks like most of these expansions will be based on the moon and in old russia. Thats quite disapointing. At least there might a raid in the reef to look forward to.
-
Guys, rather this is right or wrong you cannot JUST blame Activision. I know alot of you are longtime Bungie fans, but it's OK to realize that they are screwing you too. Just thought I'd remind some folks that since plenty of people seem to think it's entirely Activision. No doubt they deserve allot of the blame in this situation.
-
I doubt it's entirely cut content. Some areas are already there, but a lot of that is just locked icons possibly for the sole reason of doing that thing where you SHOW stuff to people without the expansion but don't let them ACCESS it. That being said, it's ridiculous seeing how many people are defending this. If ANY OTHER COMPANY other than Bungie did this shit, people would be up in arms.
-
I actually look at this in a good way, for a content starved game I only expected the DLC packs to add like 3 missions, 1 strike and 1 raid. This surpasses my expectations. I hope it gives at least 3 Crucible maps also per pack.
-
Edited by Lady Tamizan: 9/29/2014 7:37:09 AMAs far as I can tell, (based on the above youtube videos), certain areas may be locked until released to us for an event. The Vault of Glass on Venus, for example. I spotted something elsewhere from a game developer that said upon hitting level 30 and completing the story, other areas open up to you (Needs confirmed, I'm not 100% certain about this). As far as locations that say "Locked: Requires DLC 2 (or whatever it said)", those very well could be place holders. If a map for the moon was already designed, would it not make sense to include known future locations in the programming? DLC and expansions are usually underway before a game is ever released. Sure developers could produce DLC ahead of time and include it, but that means an even farther away release date. Ideas for DLC may come too late in the process sometimes to be able to include it in the game at launch due to time restrictions. I'm sure it's easier to make a mission selection button visible or invisible on a map as opposed to adding it in after the map has been designed. Honestly, the only thing that has struck me odd was the back of the case for Destiny. I got my copy for Xbox 360, and it said that my HDD needed about 20GB free for download. I cleared room on my hard drive, but after download only filled up about 5 GB of that. The other 15GB could be the amount of room anticipated for the downloading of all future content, but that's my only guess as of so far.
-
More pointless complaining.
-
Honestly, this who cut content crap... I couldn't give two shits. Maybe the areas are UNFINISHED Hmm? It's not like the expansion pass is abysmally priced. Plenty of games cut content to be put in later DLC.
-
Why? D:
-
Is anyone really surprised by this, it happens on nearly every game release now, and everyone moans and still nothing gets changed. Once games introduced season passes then a whole new money making market opened up and be it bf4, COD, or any new game recently people always pay for it
-
Isn't this what all game developers do now a days? And we all have worked the industry in to this by downloading games illegally.
-
I don't think I have an issue with content for future DLC being on disc anymore, especially with network caps in place. However, I do take issue that the main game right now seems incomplete and spotty.
-
I understand the need to do this, they have to earn monney to make future content possible. But on the other hand there should have been more to begin with. Patches and dlc are fine. But the base game should me make want to buy the dlc. Now it is so lacking that all this dlc makes me want to turn the other way. And then again if all this is correct is 4-5 missions 1-2 strikes and a raid enough to keep us playing for another 3-4 months? I dont know realy. I have bought the season pass with the collectors edition so i have monney invested in the future. So il be sticking around till the dmc comes availeble. If those dissapoint why should i invest more monney in the game.
-
This is so greasy
-
Still no response from Bungie....how far have you fallen Bungie, how far.
-
I think we should not get stucked just in our own thoughts. I love a lot the game, there are no other games that make me stop playing Destiny, not even games from my Ps4 and Xbox 360 (Just like the beta when it was released). But this doesn´t mean the game is perfect. At the beginning when i saw the negative comments giving Destiny between 0 to 4 i was really mad, but after watching some of them i saw some interesting points of views and realities that i didn´t want them to see because i loved Destiny. Destiny obviously lacks of content in every aspect. Now by looking at this images and videos i'm really worried about the future content of Destiny. 4-5 missions won´t add greatness to the story mode, the crucible has the same playlist they just added Iron Banner which is good and raids, well... i think it is going to be the best part. I already paid for the expansions and i will still play Destiny, but i don´t think these expansions will change a lot Destiny... I expect more of the same :( . What do you guys think? P.S: Sorry for my english, it´s not my native language.
