So, information about cut content have been leaked and users on Neogaf have posted this.
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=903125
Apperently a persons game glitched and allowed him to see all the content as locked, including the content we're not "allowed" to see yet. Like the DLC missions, Strikes and Raids.
I quote:
The first DLC will include 4-5 missions, 2 strikes(one on earth, one on Mars), 1 raid(on Moon) and 3 crucible maps.
Second DLC there is less details but I assume again 4-5 missions, 2 strikes, and 1 raid(which takes place in the reef)
Where all of this is on disc but have to be unlocked by buying the Season Pass/DLC.
So, there you have your proof. Bungie have cut content from the game and locked it for us to make us buy their Season Pass.
In my opinion that is a very cheap move.
Opinions/Further discussions?
Please bump this thread as much as you can to spread the truth.
Edit:
Further proof that most of the DLC is already on Disc. (From Neogaf)

To the people defending this.
How are you okay with this kind of stuff? Content being on the disc that you bought but can't use because they will sell it to you again in the Expansion Pass.
This content should/already is in the game but is locked.
Edit4:
People saying we're jumping to conclusions, that these areas are not even close to being finished and all that.
Thing is.
Since the areas are already there(some with enemies) they could have easily have included them in the game.
These areas were already in as far back as the alpha. Which means they had plenty of time to actually finish it all. (If they aren't already finished and Bungie are just waiting to release the rest of it to the people with the expansion pass)
These missions and areas should/could have been in the final game but were most likely cut to be sold later as DLC.
The areas already in the game proves this by showing us areas that are locked where they probably later only will unlock the missions for those areas. As stated in Edit1 "Expansion II is only 9.5 MB" which most likely is just a "key" to unlock the on disc "DLC".
Looking at the lack of content Destiny have right now it could have used this content on release instead.
Edit5:
Seeing that this thread now have about 380 replies(and still going) where the majority are either upset or angry at Bungie for doing this thing, maybe Bungie should address this in an official blog post and update us on how it actually is.
Is this DLC content on disc which needs a bought "key" aka expansion pass or will this later be released for free like the Iron banner and Queen's Wrath events?
Bungie, take a look at your fanbase/community, more than half of them are disappointed in the way you're doing business with Destiny.
Edit6:
A reddit post going over everything that changed with Destiny over the last year:

Same post but on Bungie.net:

It goes through everything that was in the game before release but later on got taken out for DLC or removed completely.

It says 6.9 MB on there. Also a very small download. Most likely a "key".
They promise us "New Story and Cooperative Areas to explore" but we all know those areas aren't actually new lol
Plenty of people have already been in them.
Edit9:
Quote from Neogaf worth reading:

I highly doubt the devs just cut complete shit out to sell later.
And that's probably what they want you to think. You'd be surprised what kind of crap they'd spin. Cutting content out of a game and then randomly blasting it into the market in pieces as DLC is profitable, so they'll do it. It's easy for them.
We have no evidence to suggest they aren't doing this. I'm much more inclined to say this is exactly what they're doing based on what we're seeing.
Thank god I didn't buy into this game. Pulled out last year when i realised what they were saying and what they were showing just didn't match. The $500m gave me a good laugh though. What a waste.
But hats down to Activision, it all worked perfectly. Expect other companies to follow this trend. The future is bright!
wazzanut wrote a reply worth reading:
Its like paying to get into Disneyland and then being told you have to pay extra to ride the best rides. People who dont complain about this place less value in money and self respect. I like the idea of releasing content over time to help keep things fresh but theres hardly a main body to this game, it feels like an empty introduction to an empty world. Its like halo leftovers and its starting to smell funny... Repeating missions over and over should be proof enough to the lack of content, its been a while since i felt a little screwed over by a game.
Edit11:
Another area have been found, now by Nowise10: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xtf3NlYhB_U
As you can see it is everything is done in this one as well. All Bungie have to do is release the mission files and that's the DLC for ya.
Note that Nowise10 states that this is the 2015 DLC mission.
I mean, a 2015 DLC that already exist in the game. That is pure cheapness.
Edit12:
So, the area Nowise10 found a way into have been in the game for quite some time.
This is a screenshot from a trailer released on E3 this year in June.
http://i.imgur.com/4zFs3HH.png
Would you look at that?
http://youtu.be/hRRKtkuOeig?t=1m32s
So this area have been in there since atleast E3...
Edit13:
Another finished looking DLC area on disc have been found:
http://teambeyond.net/destiny-dlc-area-uncovered-mars/
http://youtu.be/fY_KKYQG22c
Now a strike in the Black Garden area.
As you can see it is a big area where you can't go because of this big energy wall, but with a sparrow you can go through it and enter the DLC area.
Edit14:
Another DLC area found by Corbman.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AgoPfuphQvw
This is the Traitor's Ketch mission in the 2015 DLC.
Is you can see, everything is working as it should, it just needs enemies.
Edit15:
Once again, a new DLC area found by Corbman.
http://youtu.be/BtFey3eEzfk
This is the area for the raid on the moon.
Confirming that this also is on disc and only needs enemies to be added.
I know no one cares anymore so I will probably stop updating this now. Since, I don't really care anymore myself.
I've given up on Destiny and will move on to better games.

The problem on Destiny is actually what most games these days have. It´s NOT changing the industry. It´s NOT epic, not even close. And it´s not revolutionary. Again we have a game with way too much focus on the online aspect, putting up a huge competitional aspect while disregarding the fun aspect of games in general. It´s supposed to be "Science Fiction Diablo" of sort i´ve read somewhere. So why is it so effing hard to get some stuff regularly? Why is the whole game about getting better loot/gear or kicking each others asses to get stuff? Effectively it´s nothing more like Warframe for example (whic is in fact free and has a better story it´s just 3rd person view and they make no fuzz around the fact that they have a huge money making machine there). This is about starting to get ridiculous ... Why should the gaming community be happy with such crap? This is no real "content" as promised but another stupid farming activity (e.g. mini game?). Not enough for that - if some smart players find ways to achieve that a little faster everything is nerfed to nothingness. Like making BS even shittier. Good news for the occasional gamer like me - if you´re having a RL forget about having fun with the game as well because you can´t farm the normal 24/7 way to get better gear and won´t be able to play the content you have paid 110 € for ... I´m a first generation gamer which makes me a working person (jeeez i´m not only paying my games myself but also my living and my families as well). This makes me a customer. I´m highly aware of how hard my money is earned and how much i´m willing to pay for. Bungie is cheating on me handing out an unfinished product which is not even close to what was advertised. If i´m asking for a good pepperoni pizza in an italian food service and have a slimy cheeseburger in my hands when i unbox it i´m really pissed off. Hate to say it but a "Space Skyrim" would have been more fun. More to explore, a bigger diversity in opponents gear and tasks to do and an interesting story would have made the game. Sorry guys you n00bed it completely ... What is hard about making good games?
-
How much money was spent on the development and production of the game again? Including wages and contracts and all? Don't you think these companies deserve some sort way to really earn their money back and then profit off their product? I will be buying the extra content for this game that I think is amazing when the DLC comes out... That is all...
-
do you listen to a lot of Alex Jones? you are sounding pretty schizophrenic.
-
More discussion of children without a clue in the world about what software rights entail. Have fun playing in your sandbox, kiddos. "But I own the disk!!!!!" You own a little disk that is no more useful on its own than a coaster. You don't own a scrap of data on that disc...which is why developers can parcel out content as they have as they will. And if this is your first time experiencing this, welcome to real life.
-
Anyone ever think that this is happening because games are costing more money to make? No? The average last generation story game cost 60$, now people want way more than that on this gen still for 60$, and nobody expected companies to do this?
-
Edited by Anziatie: 9/29/2014 2:44:35 PMIdk I use to defend them but after this I don't think I can this shit is worse than cod dlc already on the disc and you make us pay for it? The God damn game already has 0 content I should have stayed with my instincts and not get this game I called it that it would be a game beaten in under a month and dlc would be enough to keep u busy for 2 weeks each if that. I was defending Destiny before this video went public because a game like this needs expansions but already on the disc and we have to pay for it to use it? Yeah that's some bullshit. Itd be different if the dlc wasn't on the disc and it was like a 5+gb download. Don't get me wrong I will still play and prob buy the dlc hell I'll prob buy cod and that dlc but if they fail on the dlc and cod fails..... I won't ever buy another ACTIVISION game. Unless it's the blizzard part of blizzard/ACTIVISION
-
These better be large dlc with extra pvp maps if they don't fix the pvp this game us failing lol
-
But like, isn't that what DLC is? Extra content you pay for?? Destiny is practically a mock mmo and this isn't surprising to me at all? No one bitches about World of Warcraft and it's never ending list of expansions. It's content you pay for. You can say you were owed this content in the base game and truth is, you're not. Bungie released a perfectly fine game (albeit lacking sometimes) but most of you walnut brains don't even want to take the time to play a game you just bitch about how you can't one and done it. You bought a game you didn't understand the concept of gtfo and quit whining. Return your game already because I'm sick of hearing all the QQ
-
Well I suppose what's important is if I feel (when compared to other games) Destiny has delivered $60 worth of entertainment. It most certainly has. What's the alternative? Leave all that content in the game and charge me $100 or more? I'd rather just pay $60 for a new game and pay for more content in the form of DLC later. tl;dr: I feel I'm getting my money's worth. The minute that changes I'll have to decide if I want to continue playing.
-
I agree that, based on the repetitive nature of the current release, the "locked" portion of the disc should be released. I'm not so much upset that it is locked on the disc (since we don't know if other titles do the same thing, i.e. COD) but those games don't feel like they are lacking upon release. With that said, I have purchased the game and will likely buy the DLC but if it is as poor or limited as the initial release Bungie will go on my blacklist just as the developers of Grand Theft did. Had this title felt more complete then a lot of the murmurings probably wouldn't exist, at least not from me, but it isn't so there it is. Anyway I guess we will know soon, huh? #Destiny , #WhyyoudothistousBungie , #reallybungie , #areyouserious, #boycottBungieifDLCislacking

With all the attention this is getting, not just in the forums but on IGN as well something will be done and we will get answers.
-
Activision at its finest. Based on prior dlcs from halo Bungie has always delivered. So go complain to the other half who invested money in this game.
-
Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Keep it up. This issue is extremely important. We deserve 10x more content for the same price regardless of inflation in a medium with skyrocketing development costs and high overhead. Please start a petition to force all creative people to develop all their projects in full and sell them for one set price. After Bungie lets go after disney and demand All avengers movies, Thor 1 and 2, captain America 1 & 2, iron man 1-3, the Incredible Hulk and any other movie created in the overarching marvel cinematic universe be strung together into a giant super cut since they're all basically 1 movie and all they're doing is milking us for money.
-
Bungie, just remember, you haven't made it until someone hates you!
-
Yeah it's a cheap move but they didn't really sell the game to you; you were sold a license to play the game basically. You own nothing but the disc and the right to play your copy. Still lame though.
-
Edited by NotSoLoneWolf: 9/29/2014 2:32:20 PMThis is -blam!-ing bullshit. I love Destiny, and I still have faith in Bungie's awesomeness, but my faith in their ability to reign in Activi$$$ion is slowly evaporating. EDIT: never mind, my logic just kicked in. If you can show me people actually going in to these missions, then I will believe you. But right now they could just be icons with no content behind them.
-
I don't get how people can defend this.
-
Is anyone really surprised by this? The game is like 6 hours long + a couple multiplayer modes and a super tiny, really limited central hub. 500 mil and years of development buy a whole lot more than that. It's a pretty sad state of affairs. I find it so much harder to enjoy a game when i know the company is blatantly, right infront of our faces, ripping us off.
-
Its not a DLC its an expansion. Bungie has emphasized this multiple times...
-
Corporations are their own entities. They are neither good or evil. Just cold hard stones which just seek ever increasing larger profit margines. Lets just say what it is. You got tricked into buying either a 60 dollar 1/3 of a game or 90 dollar full game. Money is the root of all evil............
-
The first dlc contents 6 new missions, 1 stryke assault and 1 raid. New triple AAA games that comes in this dates are better options to buy; this content is too short. Bungie must incorporate new PVE content until december if they wants that people still playing their game.
-
Proof that there is going to be more content.
-
Most likely Bungie fell behind schedule (possibly due to whatever was going on with Marty / Joseph Staten), and Activision decided to shave the game down in order to meet the release date. This is not uncommon practice with big publishers, and some content originally planned for the game may end up as DLC as a result, or be omitted altogether if Bungie doesn't have the time/money to finish it when they need to focus on other projects.
-
I is depressed now.
