Due to the fact that every high leveled person is getting rid of Legendary equipment because they don't need it and need something better, why not give it away to someone or trade it to someone? Someone out there may possibly have gear that you want/need. For instance, as of right now, I'm still looking for a legendary heavy weapon, and I'm already level 28. If I need something, I can request it, and someone will be willing to trade with me for that weapon. Plus, gifting equipment for people can be useful so they don't have to waste their time for something that they require. If this was a thing Bungie, people's lives in searching for things can be a little less harder.
