Some thoughts on grinding and a suggestion for story missions.
Good idea for optional story matchmaking.

A lot of my friends are complaining about how long it takes to level up items with regards more to resource gathering than progress rings filling. I expect a lot of you lot are too. Thing is, Destiny is a long-haul game. We're meant to play it for a very long time, and being given immediate access to a ton of upgrades would just diminish the sense of longevity as well as accomplishment. I totally understand player empowerment, and access to basic abilities and class-specific stuff is all about that. But the super-powerful stuff such as my Exotic auto Hard Light overpenetrating and ricocheting bullets (which doesn't actually seem to do much, but looks nice), and the Exotic Warlock helm from Xur allowing Super use to regenerate health instantly? That's insanely powerful stuff that I wouldn't expect of an upgrade system until at least a few months down the line.
I guess the current rate of upgrading, some bits every day for me, is good, but just feels a little too easy right now.
And my other point. Yes. I think there should be at least the option for matchmaking in story missions. I can't tell you how many times I've soloed the low level stuff, not only for Bounties, but also because I joined battle a week after launch, at which point all my friends were grinding in the 20s and unwilling to halp.
