It is nearly universally agreed that ghosts is bad. Referencing that one was a mistake. Also it's the ripper or remmington for the most part.

Ripper is banned in competitive, it's the Vector or the Mtar, Remmy is rarely used on most maps. Fine, same applies to the Famas from Black ops 1.

Destiny currently doesn't have competitive, you can't really make a comparison as nothing is banned in Destiny.
