We are investigating and are finding some strange results. If you are seeing issues that appear to be related to yesterday's even, please do reply and let us know.
That said, a number of the problems being reported in this thread are not related. Keep an eye on @BungieHelp and help.bungie.net for updates.

[/b]The fix we are applying is to solve for players that can't get past the start screen to character select without hitting CENTIPEDE. This fix will not help those that are already playing and get disconnected with CENTIPEDE errors.
We have applied the fix to the majority of the reported accounts, and there is a good chance you can now play. Please test your account and reply to your post here to let us know if it worked! It is especially helpful for us to hear if our fix is allowing you to play. If you are still having problems please be patient as we apply the fix to all impacted accounts.

You are kidding, right? Have you seen the amount of people that are describing the exact same issue? Do you honestly believe that we all did the exact same something to cause this, and its not a bug cause by the hot fix? I'm thinking you don't and I'm guessing the only reason you posted here is because it's getting attention. I'm with Komo. Post elsewhere and let Bungie focus on the larger problem at hand.

Dear support, My 29 Warlock is showing up as a level 0, with 0 grimoire score. Im getting errors galore. My "Boots of the Hezen Lord" are missing. Experiencing occasional lag. Any help appreciated. Kind regards, RADlAL

I couldn't sign in at all after 5pm yesterday and I still can't sign in now been trying for hours, reset my router several times, reset my ps4 several times, deleted the game then re installed it, same problems, restored licenses on my ps4 still does nothing, can't even get to the login screen, I can play other games just fine, even other psn accounts can play ... I'm getting extremely agitated, I want my money back, a fix by tonight, or I'm never gonna play or support Bungie again. Cod is riddled with issues and I don't have trouble like this.

Been playing fine for a week now, after the update I did a few patrol missions on earth went back to decrypt my engrams and got booted out. Loaded up again it hadn't recognised I'd decrypted so I did it again then went onto Mars to do a mission, half way through the mission It kicked me out and I havnt been able to get on since. It seems a lot of people experiencing these problems started exeperiencing them shortly after decrypting engrams found!!! My friend next door is able to play fine and he has also played using my internet so I know it isn't my network it is a problem with my account. Tomorrow will be the third day of my three days off and I still havnt manged to have a decent bit of game time. This needs sorting out.

I was playing Destiny yesterday starting at around 10 am CT with no problems. Got a message saying that the update was in effect and to be prepared for some small issues. Around 3:30-4 pm CT, I was kicked off of the game during the middle of a storyline mission. I chalked it up to the update and took a break. When I tried to log in about an hour later, the loading screen would go through the process up to "Signing In" before it would give me the Centipede error. It is now 24 hours later, and I cannot log in to Destiny at all. I still receive the centipede error, and cannot access my characters or Grimoire on the companion app. I have followed the instructions on the Bungie centipede help page to no avail. I have done everything I can think of to troubleshoot this on my end, and after spending the day looking through the forum for answers, I have only found other users with this same issue. I am playing on the PS4 and my gamer tag is TheReddlady.

Same problem for me. Ever since yesterday I have not been able to log into my warlock, which comes with error code: centipede. My internet is fine and I can log into my hunter perfectly too, but I have tried at least 20 times now on two separate days and still nothing.

I have the same issues, after the main screen => press x => centipide error. My network working fine.

I got my first exotic yesterday, Patience and Time, I don't know if that info helps. I can log into my friends Destiny account from my Xbox and have made sure my NAT is open, set Xbox to a static ip, set my DMZ to my Xbox, forwarded all ports related ports as a precaution, and disabled UPnP. I'm positive it is an account error. My XBL account is: LOLMYCAT

Able to login on my alts but not my main, who knows if my lvl 28 lost anything. This is the last straw, idk how much longer I can take the crap.

Same thing happens to me except my progress was rolled back today. I had the disconnecting issues yesterday but eventually was able to play. Logged in today and everything was fine until I logged off for about 2 hours and when I logged back in everything that I had accomplished since yesterday was erased. I ha completely leveled my both of my primary and sub classes, bought a legendary from the vendor, leveled up my gear, completed a few strikes for my exotic bounty, and the worst is that I farmed 100 spinmetal and all of it's just gone. Please fix this because I'm already getting tired of the grind for the smallest of progress and now I don't feel like playing at all.

I can't get past the title page without getting the centipede error and my account on the destiny app says I never played destiny even though I had a level 28 hunter and level 14 warlock. Yesterday after completing the devils lair fulfilling a queens wrath bounty (killing sepkis) and happening on a legendary engram. On returning to the tower and decrypting the engram I got booted and was able to sign in again to decrypt it again yielding the same legendary pulse rifle. Then I went to patrol the moon and complete a headshot bounty using said pulse rifle and shortly after got the deluge of centipedes.

The online feature for my game is broken im sure. I have the digital download, and for the past day of playing, anywhere I go I see NOBODY else. It won't let me play crucible, search for strike parties, etc. Idk what the issue is or what to do but this isn't the first time.

Edited by kemo: 9/26/2014 8:57:17 PMMaster, yesterday around 11:00 PM GMT+1 I was experiencing strange behaviour - I got disconnected without "contacting destiny server" in the bottom right - just told me I lost connection with the world - while party chart was still working (PS4), and my internet connection was working fine (assuming problem was on your end), so I reconnected to the tower again, but the actions I made before disconnect was not saved already ( ~ 1-2 mins back), so I did those actions again (returned bounty, decrypted engrams, bought emblem from the Speaker - which is on my account at the moment), and this time I got kicked from the tower again, but this time it seems it saved the progress of the actions I made just before I was kicked (emblem is still there). Anyway I went offline after second disconnect and in the morning the #centipede error right after "Press X to play" showed up and I can't log in to the game anymore + legend is not accessible on my profile page while logged in. EDIT: forgot to mention it's just linked PSN ID, if I choose a different one, the game works as expected, that means something's wrong with the specific character. But I guess you know that already..

Around midnight european time i got disconnected and from this point on always getting the Centipede error after "press X to start" Trying it every hour but no change. When i try to log at the Grimoire here on the webpage it says "destiny account could not be loaded" 10 minutes ago a new thing happened: After pressing X at start and before getting the Centipede error it says "user generated content is not allowed with this programm and this account. Messages and voice chat are not allowed with this program and account" (Or something similiar, just translated it)

I'm having same problems as OP. Was in the middle of a mission, got booted.. Was able to log on one more time, just to get booted 1 minute after. Ever since my lvl 27 has been locked. Creating a different character enables me to play, but that's not the point.. Is there anything factual to everyone being online during the update having lost their character used at that time??

Since 5 pm est yesterday I have not been able to use main account always centipede error but my secondary works. I was on main and got disconnected during hot fix. I also cannot view in app. If you review the posts several people including myself replied to an old beta post about issue. We listed date,time,etc.

I have all of the same symptoms as OP. Yesterday afternoon I was doing a story mission, got booted in the middle of it and haven't been able to log back in since. When I get to the character select screen, I pick my Titan and as soon as I do it gives the centipede error code. I made a new hunter and it can log in and play just fine. My bungie profile says it can't load my destiny data when I'm logged in, but if I log out I can see it fine.
